... Brett who had been living/working there for the last 6 weeks. They were all really fun and nice. The hostel only had 10 people capacity but had a good common space and friendly people. ... away my tears. And I have my first swim in the Black Sea. It's not quite as clear as the Aegean or the Med, but it's pretty transparent still and, it's also still lifeless. In Varna, they have a Sea Garden, essentially a parkland running parallel to the sea side for some kilometres. It's a great place to wander, get lost and then find your way. It seems to be a special bay as tourist boats with day trippers come in to anchor for a swim and shore visit. The swimming is good particularly early on when we were the only people in the water.

... exciting thing we saw was a protest of Bulgarians with Russian flags protesting against the U.S. About 10 people...no crowd. Just a TV camera.
