... Brett who had been living/working there for the last 6 weeks. They were all really fun and nice. The hostel only had 10 people capacity but had a good common space and friendly people. Had dinner at a local place that was recommended to us. We asked what the waitress recommended and she gave us two massive pork and chicken grills that we struggled to finish! ... In the night it's Lev25 for 3 hours. It's a great way to spend the sunny day at the beach. My arms were in pain for 3 days after my session! This place was a great distraction, and I befriend a group of friendly locals who take me under their wings and let me hang out for the day and into the night at their local watering hole. I'm thankful for these friendly Bulgarians who made me feel normal again and helped me to wash away my pain.

Interestingly there is a pungent aroma coming off the sea. The shower water also has a strong not all together pleasant smell. Dave asked at the medical tent (doctor present for Blue Flag status) and was told the water is very good for health, particularly the stomach. We haven’t tried yet but interestingly the strange odour doesn’t linger after a shower and the clothes ...

Varna is a pretty nondescript town. Third largest in Bulgaria, with a large port and beaches. And a history of Mafia. We went to ANOTHER archeological museum. This one is known for having the oldest collection of worked gold in the world. Otherwise, a lot of Greek and Roman things.
