Emlagh House Dingle

My wife and I stayed four nights in Emlagh House.It is simply one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in and matches many 5 star hotels anywhere for luxury and comfort. The bedrooms are beautifully furnished and the bathroom is spacious,with double wash basins and has everything you could want.Bathrobes are supplied. Breakfast only is provided but it is enough to set you up for the day.It is served in a beautiful lounge overlooking Dingle Bay and the food and service is of the highest quality.The hotel is filled with beautiful paintings and etchings and there is a small libray of books,videos and dvds(there is a video and a Bose dvd player and radio in each bedroom) Tea and coffee making facilties are provided in the lounge and there is an 'honour' bar. Bottled water and fruit is left in the room each day and on our last night we returned to our room to find a small decanter of wine and some chocolates in the bedroom.What adds to the ethos of the hotel is the friendliness of the owner Marion Kavanagh and her daughter Grainne. They provided us with great advice on what to see and do. The guest house is more expensive than some others in the area but it is well worth it for the quality of the surroundings,the food and the services provided.We will definitely be back.

I would recommend a trip to the Blasket islands from Dingle, a visit to the Blasket island Interpretative Centre at Dunquin and an archeological tour of the Dingle pennisula.There are a lot of good restaurants in Dingle.Our favourite was The Chart House restaurant a few mintues walk from Emlagh House.

My favourite London Hotel is Parkes in Knightsbridge. There is no higher compliment than to be able to say that Emlagh House is at least as good with the added attraction of Dingle on your door step. Beautiful furnishings and the chance to cut yourself off from the world, at least until you venture out to one of Dingle's great restaurants for dinner. We were only there for a night and had a very good meal in the Half Door. My husband had fun mixing with the locals in the pub that was also a hardware store.

We stayed at Emlagh House for two nights during our recent driving tour of the west of Ireland. It was absolutely fabulous; a beautiful two story building right on Dingle Bay, with a nearby walking path along the bay, and just a 5 minute walk to Dingle town. We stayed in the room called Honeysuckle (all rooms are named after flowers), which was spacious, beautifully decorated, and with an outstanding view of Dingle Bay. The bathroom had a large spa tub, separate shower, and two sinks. This is an expensive, but a perfect and romantic place to stay.

I stayed in the Wild Orchid Room earlier this year. This is a beautiful and comfortable hotel. The rooms are decorated wonderfully and everything has been thought out thoroughly. The music and book library ustairs, the lovely lounge are nice touches. The bathrooms are modern, large and beautiful. The breakfast is delicious. Marion is a wonderful hostess.

Stay at Emlagh House, you will be glad that you did.

What a wonderful facility. We spent a little more and got the superior room (called blackberry) and it was worth every penny. Large room with beautiful furniture, huge bathroom with all the right ammenaties. The staff was a mix of family and others and was extremely friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast, although not good on my arteries, was one of the best that we had the entire trip.

It was obvious that the owner had put much time and money into this hotel. Beautiful original artwork, restored antique furniture, bottled water in the rooms, nice robes...I could go on and on. You got all of this with a family atmosphere. The only negative was that the view was partially obstructed by another hotel, but it was still a very nice view.

All and all this b and b ranks up there with the five star hotels in the United States.

Cudos to the owners! We will be back on our next trip to Ireland.

4 year old property with very good attention to detail. huge rooms, very crisp linen, very nice people, quite expensive for what it is, but well worth it if you appreciate good quality accomodation. great breakfast.

Emlagh House was just great. The house was built about 4 years ago, but you may just think (and we were wondering at first) that it is an old house that has been recently renovated. Our room was large and very comfortable, with the nicest bathroom (huge with a separate shower and bathtub) I've seen in any of my 3 trips to Europe. We had dinner in the dining room one night; it was simple but very good. The staff is also helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this place.

My husband and I stayed at Emlagh House for 3 days in April 2004. It was the most beautiful of all the places we stayed during our 3 week tour of Ireland. A newly, purpose built guest house with all the finest appointments and attention to detail. Beautiful large rooms, comfy down duvets, marble baths with double sinks, lush linens, nice deep tubs! Separate shower. Magneficent antique furnishings in perfect condition and wonderful original artwork throughout the house. A light and airy dining room with a delicious breakfast made to order. Your hosts, the Kavanaghs and their staff (Paula), embrase you with warm, Irish hospitality at it's finest! An excellent find and a great location in which to tour Dingle.

The Emlagh House is by far one of the nicest guest houses in all of Ireland. After a rough start in Limerick, my husband and I were overwhelmed by the gorgeous rooms, gigantic marble bathrooms (our room was equipped with two sinks, a shower and spa tub ), and warm hospitality of the owners and staff. The breakfast was divine and made to order. The town of Dingle was adorable, the seaside cliffs are breathtaking, and fortunately, our weather was warm and all sunshine for 3 days in August, 2003. Dingle itself was worth visiting and the Emlagh house made our stay that much more enjoyable.

My fiance and I spent 4 nights at the Emlagh House in Dingle in June

2003. The house is in a great location right on Dingle harbor, within

10 minutes walk of the main town. The house is a modern house but with

an old-world Georgian style. Our room was gorgeous, spacious, and the

bed was big and comfortable. The Kavanaghs (owners) treated us like

royalty. My fiance is somewhat lactose-intolerant and they responded by

making a delicious special dairy-free breakfast for her. It rained

pretty hard one of the four days we were there and they gave us a lift

into town so we wouldn't have to walk in the rain or worry about

parking our car. The Emlagh House has a nice library of local history

books and maps so we were able to plan fantastic day trips around the

Peninsula while sipping a cocktail by the cozy fireplace. We stayed

many places all over Ireland during our four week trip but Emlagh House

stands out as one of the best.
