Today we decided to go rafting out in the mountains in order to avoid the hustle and bustle of tourist Side. The trip was cheap so we knew we would be in for an interesting day, and that it was. ... staying. He fed us home made jams and fruit from his tree and introduced us to his pride and joy turtle pets. They have free roam in the garden. It's awesome. Guess what we are getting when we get back home. We spent the day walking around the beach and through the ruins, tasting the cheap and delicious foods from a sneaky little home cook place not catering to any tourists... Delicious food!
The beaches were covered in rubbish and the amount of cigarette butts ...

... statues unearthed tomorrow at the Antalya Museum. Next we were off to Aspendos, 48kms east. We were unable to see the Aspendos Theatre as it has been closed for renovations, but we did see the reconstructed bridge and the aquaduct. In the 1930's Atatürk, after tourıng the area, declared that theatre was too beautiful not to use and had renovations done and it now is the home of live performances. Breakfast was a rather hurried affair, as we had a slow start and had to be back in the bus by ten. Oats, yoghurt and a few apricots were perfect. A certain lack of spoons meant I am now practised at eating yoghurt with a fork.

Our room is on the fourth floor, so I am grateful there is a lift. I now know I need to get in the D block lift, and ...
