... and our boat didn't leave till 2.30pm but ended up not leaving till nearly 3pm. I caught up on my blog which for some reason has been made more difficult as I haven't been able to open the app for the last three days and so I had to do it through their web site. So four days have been written up in this manner and now I'm back on this fast jet boat the app opened so I'm back in business. Lets hope when I'm finally able to sync it picks up all my other entries. So ...

... Our transfer was a bit late but our ferry even later. I don't like waiting :( I was desperate to get to Paros and go to the beach. By the time we arrived it was about four o'clock. Dropped our bags at the hotel and then we wine to explore Paros. We saw the beach at the end of our street only about 50m from our hotel, this would be our spot tomorrow morning :) then we walked along the water towards town. We passed a supermarket and went in to sticky beak ...

Nevertheless, I was determined. I made some coffee (aside: most "American" style coffee is instant coffee: just little pellets that dissolve in hot water. Filter coffee is uncommon here) and washed some clothes in the sink with bar soap, leaving them on the balcony to dry.

I returned the ATV (and seriously ...

Sea urchin hunting and eating with pasta!

... At least for me, I had to dive down once to dislodge the sea urchin with a stick and then dive again to grab it with my bare hands. I was surprised that you can pick them up but you do feel the spines moving around as you hold them in your hand which is kind of freaky. Each of us had a go at a stick with a ladle spoon attached at the end as well as the big net to hold the sea urchins. That was the best, because it was easy to just ladle the sea ...

... and as the sun went down, the lights reflected from the few buildings built into its hillside sparkled in the water, giving the whole scene a kind of Disneyworld quality. Only it was not contrived, the charm was utterly real. Leigh ordered the Moussaka and Chris a platter of grilled meats, lamb burger with mint seasoning, chicken and pork as well as a lamb chop. The owner seated us and took our orders, his wife, we think, was in the kitchen cooking our meals. ...
