... Buddha.. Then after a couple of weeks, they disappear again. The Once a year they have multiple weddings on Alishan and today was the day. There were 20 brides and grooms and their families and hundreds of extra people who went to the mountain just to watch the weddings. There are super large hotels to accommodate all the visitors. ... higher and the clouds and mist came down and blocked our view. Occasionally we could see. There is a tall Palm like tree that produces nuts. Many people chew these and they are like a drug. You could see so many of these trees that have been planted in between the native scrub. ... The highways in Taiwan are fantastic. Instead of following the ups and downs of the land, they have built their roads up high on concrete pylons, so to drive you are going straight and level. This makes travelling so much faster. On the way we went close to the coast and they had a large wind farm there to take advantage of the sea breezes.
