Melbourne

We would arrive in Melbourne later today but first of all we drove back past the 12 Apostles and then further on to 'Gibson's steps' where we had a chance to get some close up shots of one of the Apostles. We drove on to Otway National Park and stopped at 'Mait's Rest' where we had a short walk through the rainforest there. We stopped down the road at Apollo Bay for lunch and then drove to Lorne, Bells Beach (the most famous surfing beach in Australia) and then on to Torquay. I bumped into Da...

Small town, Big city.

... i felt and at which the city extrudes as well...i feel like i haven't been able to take it slow much so i really enjoyed not having a lot to do or anything for that matter and not feeling like im missing oot on anything. The one thing i did do, i saw free didgerdoo lessons on offer..so i gave it a go. Im rubbish as expected as with anything muscially related (except listening) but it nice to get a feel as peeps make it look so easy.<br><br>That's Perth...<br>

... with banners and balloons when we arrived, more that made up for not collecting us by taking a day off work to drive us on a guided tour of the Perth area. It happened to be one of Perth's stormiest days ever as there were trees blowing all over the roads and sporadic floods (a normal spring day in Ireland).<br>Actually, looking back now, that was probably our most productive day in the 9 months since we left home!<br>Anyway, bye bye expensive first world Australia.<br>

Day 87-92 Mosman Park, Perth

... bedding and dirty clothes accumulated over the last few days not in powered sites with ablutions facilities. Our first request of them was to eat decent Thai food, Greg and I were craving it. A red curry and pad thai was high on our priority list and we ate out Thursday night at a favourite Thai restaurant of Barry and Sara's. The food was great and we drank Moet celebrating Barry's coming finalisation of his sale of business ...

Australien uge 2

The monster 4,000km road trip to Perth

... the next 96km (this sign is often seen on postcards), another ushers you into "Australia's longest straightest road" and another exclaims "Half way across Australia", near a town called Kimba (again we were told that this isn't accurate either, but who cares). On the trip we did all sorts. We rode camels into the outback, learned to surf (badly), sand boarded, fished for squid (unsuccessfully) and gone animal spotting during the day and at ...
