Great resort but maybe a little tired now ....
This is the second time we have stayed here and overall it is a great resort. The rooms are large and well appointed, very clean, and the location is superb facing onto a large lake over a sandy beach so that you can imagine you are on a tropical island.
The activities staff are great too and there is plenty of stuff for the kids to organised by the staff.
We like it most because it is a small resort so no need to walk three miles to the pool :-) and also it always seems uncrowded and leasirely.
Two criticisms ... the rooms are starting to look a little bit tired and will need a full refurb within the next 12-18 months otherwise they'll start to look downright nasty.
Also, we exchange in from RCI and had two one week reservations plus then we rented for three extra nights. No-one at front desk could seem to grasp this and it took a while to check in. Then every so often housekeeping would knock on the door and ask if we were checking out that day.
Bit of shambles to be honest and left a bad taste on an otherwise great holiday in a high class resort.
Wonderful staff and great rooms
my family and i stayed here last year a very last minute thing we were practically left out on the street we booked at another hotel when we arrived that hotel residence inn on jamaica court was like a box i called all around to find a nice room that could fit 8 people came across embassy the manager told us to come on down so we did he was so nice took us to see aroom it was lovely secruity on the property was great no one is aloud on the property that's not suppose to be there the hotel calls you with the activities of the day this hotel is nice and quiet if my brother didn't have a timeshare at westgate lakes i would love to come back here if you want a nice place with lots of space this is it .WOULD DEFINITLY COME BACK
My second home in orlando
My mom purchased her time share at Embassy back in 96. Last year was the first time we ever used it. Well I did anyway. This place is truly magnificent. I planned a trip with 5 of my closest friends and my boyfriend(all college students), Of course I got the master bedroom and it is amazing. The jacuzzi is definetely the best part of that room.
The second bedroom with the queen is just as nicely decorated with a very nice tub and the twin room resembles that of a regular bedroom but it was still very nice. they had their own bathroom across the hall which was an addition to the two private bathrooms . We had a full kitchen and laundry room which was extremely useful. A dining table is provided along with all of your silverware and dishes. Then you have the living room which was our movie spot. Let me tell you about the service. When we went to use the stereo, it had stopped playing. We called the front desk and not only did someone come up promptly, but we received a brand new stereo system which was on point. High tech. I loved that place so much because it was as nice as my own house.the place itself is fairly quiet, enough so that New Yorkers like ourselves felt like we should keep the noise to a minimal but even if you are loud no one can here you. Very nice for Party people. The marble is gorgeous in the bedrooms and everything was so tasteful. It is very relaxing and for young people like ourselves, we had options like swimming, volleyball, basketball, tennis etc. they could have used a better gym but then again there are so many other things like the pool, that can keep you active.Of course we rented a car with ez rent a car of kissimee and Orlando who by the way were very rude when they handled our reservations and I toldthem somehow I would let people know how unprofessional and tacky THEY ARE!Back to the resort, all in all it is worth the money and If it werent for the fact that we dont want to have to deal with ez rent a car in Orlando again(we are still under 21)we would undoubtedly have stayed there again. You do need a car. This time we are going to Miami but Im going to miss EGVC. It is truly a good place to be and I will return sooner or later.
3BR, 3Bth, Hot Tub, Wshr & Dryer in Room, Full Kitchen.......
A Hot Tub in the Mstr Bedroom ! ! Look at the pics, we couldn't believe it. 3BR's with their own bathrooms. A washer & dryer right in your own suite with daily supply of detergent ! ! (Doesn't get any better than that.) You have a private balcony that is SCREENED in with table and chairs ! Full Kitchen with large kitchen table, - refrig. - dishes - coffee maker - pots and pans etc., VCR (for movies they rent out), CD player, ROOMY living area, beautiful views, ...I could go on forever ! The staff is just a delight and there are hot tubs and heated pool outside ! All for a very reasonable price. It will be Embassy Vacation Resorts for us from now on - no one can beat em and believe me we have stayed at many other hotel chains !
Just got back from a weekend at the Embassy Grand Beach Vacation Resort in Orlando, Lake Buena Vista, FL. I am an owner of a floating week there that was purchased on the resale market. Since purchasing, Sunterra has accquired this property, and I must say that they have great plans for adding to it. I own in Phase I which are the original 3 br/3 bath units with 2 master suites. I prefer this layout to the newer lockout units. We are a family of 5, so what the heck am I gonna do with two kitchens as is in the newer 3 br units.
Sunterra is keeping the property immaculate. There is speculation at this point if they are going to change from Embassy to Sunterra in the name because Embassy has nothing to do with the property any more. In fact, they havent for several years.
I would highly recommend this property if you are staying in Orlando.
It is only 2.5 miles to Disney, and close to everything else. They are very large units with well equipped kitchens, nice screened patios, and large rooms. I think they should add internet access in the rooms, as well as DVD players, but other than that, I have no complaints.
Our first visit to this resort, and we requested a 2BR non-smoking.
When we arrived there were no 2 BD non-smoking rooms available, so they upgraded to a 3BD non-smoking without additional charge. But, when we arrived at our room, it smelled like smoke, the carpets were wet, and the main bedroom's bathroom smelled like cat urine. We were tired, it was late and we slept in that room for the night. The next morning I went down to arrange for another room, they gave us another 3BD non-smoking that was similar in layout but did not have as many problems. We had to re-pack our stuff, carry it to another building/room, and un-pack again with 2 children (a little incovenvient, which I think could have been prevented by them looking at the first room before they gave it to us). Not so sure this resort would be my first place to come back in Orlando. Good points: They had great activities for the kids and the pool was clean. Enclosed balconies were nice to have.
This place was wonderful. More secluded than most other Orlando resorts. Many activites for people of all ages. Beautiful pool and lake. Most rooms have a nice view of the pool or the lake. The rooms were amazing. There are basically 2 master suites (I stayed in the 3 bedroom). Nice screened in balcony with a table and chairs. People were friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this Embassy resort, and I plan on staying at the Embassy every time I visit Florida.
Embassy - give it a try
I was skeptical about staying here as it doesn't have Gold Crown distinction with R.C.I. any longer. However, we found our accommodations to be more than expected. Our three bedroom unit had two huge master bedrooms with ensuites. Large kitchen, livingroom area. Lovely screened in porch. Definitely would recommend this resort. Only complaint - livingroom rug needed steam cleaning - however they were in the process of doing this while we were there. April 27 - May 4. 2003 visited there.
Very nice resort. Full kitchen, dining area, living room and 2 bedrooms. The master bedroom is huge with a seperate bath/shower area. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They have planned kids activities around the pool area every day. Most attractions are near by with easy access to freeway. I would highly recommend this as a great alternative to a hotel room at near the same price.
This is a really nice resort about 2-3 miles from Disney World. If you book it well in advance you should get a good deal. We stayed over Memorial Day weekend and paid $109/night for 4 nights, but we booked it in January. Same room was going for $199 right before we left. The room was amazing--2 bedrooms, 2 huge bathrooms, a living room with sleeper sofa, balcony, and full kitchen complete with cooking utensils. The pool was nice and they had many poolside activities, including a free hors d'oeuvre and karaoke evening. Staff were very friendly and helpful. When we go back we will probably stay there again, assuming we can get the same deal. This was much nicer and relaxing than our stay at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, which we found to be, of course, over-priced. Definitely worth checking out.

We had a quiet morning around the pool. It was a lot more busy than yesterday but still a nice spot. Around lunchtime the clouds gathered and it started to rain. At first we just got in the pool and tried to wait it out but then quite bad thunder started and we had to get out.
Went back inside and got showered and changed and later on drove up …
Had a weird night's sleep with vivid dreams! Must have been all that food LOL. Anyway, Bob went off about 930 to play his round at Falcon's Fire . The website for the course was really good with a very good plan and page for each hole. The back 9 looked pretty challenging with lots of water all over the place and more bunkers than I've ever seen. …

... Because of our slow start we were too late to put Sammy into the morning session of kids club, so we explored the top deck. Sammy and Tom played a round of put put, then Samuel saw a huge slide, and you had to climb a spider web to ge to he top. It was quite difficult and he probably wasn't quite big enough to manage. They were about to close the slide, and put some tarpolin across the entry, assuming Samuel would climb to the top ...
... the welcome reception at Disney's Hollywood Studios tonight. It certainly is a world away from the welcome reception in the Royal College of Surgeons at PICS last week; having drinks in a room surrounded by dissected body parts in glass cabinets! There is a weather system brewing off the west coast of Orlando which was now upgraded to having a name (this only happens once they get so big) ...
