      ... luck, the ride apparently creates a 50,000 cubic feet wave and I barely got a splash on me! (Out of interest why do the water rides in the hottest places barely leave a drop on you but he log flume at Alton Towers will happily drench you through to the bone in March?!) So instead we stood on the bridge over the ride (the splash zone) and Dad found the perfect place to get a photo of me getting soaked - but he got soaked and I stayed bone dry AGAIN!! Damn ...

      ... Public Library, the central part has 4 huge murals depicting the history of Los Angeles and the ceiling is a tiled mosaic. Really cool! Next was the Los Angeles Biltmore hotel which was opened in 1923 and was at the time the largest hotel west of Chicago in the US.       Our recovery days in LA were spent at the Farmers Daughter Hotel in Hollywood. Quite a nice 'alternative' hotel fashioned out of a 1960s motel. Directly opposite is the old farmers market, now turned into a large open air food court alongside an even larger shopping centre with all the main brands present. Heaven for June.
