... We arrived at Reagan alongside a load of veterans. In a typically over the top American style, the airport staff ordered that all passengers stop what they are doing to applaud their arrival. Which is great for those veterans that can afford to fly, but until the Americans open their eyes to the veterans on the street who really need their help - who have no medical assistance, no social welfare and no housing, I refuse to participate in such a false show of respect.

We went up in the arch. I have included some pictures out of the arch windows. It is cold here and rainy - high was 52, tonight a low of 40. The propane heat is working plus it helps to have two cats on the bed all night !!

... St. Louis, we ate lunch on the Riverfront, then went to the Botanical Gardens. In St. Charles, we saw the original capitol building, then drove to Jefferson City to see the current Capitol Building. It got up to 112 degrees today. I'm feeling it.
