    ... purse strings closed. Kynser ended up buying some socks of all things. Laneshia and I bought some cool Arizona shirts for ourselves and her sisters. Leaving the science center the kids got to walk in a neat landscape maze before we headed to the car.

    ... br> Florence and i went back to Tucson for a few days before coming back to Peoria. I especially wanted to hear Johnny Ben Como again...it's become tradition. Johnny sings with the 18 string guitar and has an encyclopedic knowledge of country/western/folk songs from before 1982 (or '84?). The food and company were equally excellent! One of the best evenings we've had since hitting the road this year.

    ... War on ‘M*a*s*h’. And also we saw them taking the engines of a B-17 taking apart, since the engine only runs for 1200 hours and should be ready for the summer flying. Part of this was, that you could not only closely watch them do their work and ask questions, but also to go into the B-17 and look along the machine gun… touch the bombs…. We also admired the B-25… and wished we had the 700 $ for a ride in the nose ...
