... This morning's ride was slowed by milder versions of the same stuff. With everything soaked I opted for a hotel for tonight for rest and to dry out. Spent the morning at Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby Museum. This is a must see if you are ever in Louisville. Have never been a fan of sports involving animals, but you catch the fever while you are there. Would love to attend on a race day, but the every day Joe tickets are sold out for 4 years. Money that was changed hands on the last Kentucky Derby Day was $210,000,000. Had lunch downtown ...

... over the bridge and so very convenient to downtown Louisville. Louisville is a beautiful city. The downtown area has been restored with all the original architecture and personality intact. We used the free hop on and off trolley to tour downtown. Visited the Louisville Slugger Museum and toured the factory. Great little shops and restaurants all throughout downtown. ... and lower New York State and shipped to Louisville to be crafted into bats...We saw the earlier and first hand technique that was once used to the new modern day technology using a computer that prepares the bat to the players specifications....I had the opportunity to hold many of the bats that were used by baseball's greatest hitters such as Mickey Mantle, Babe Ruth, Cal Ripken Jr....We spent two hours on the tour and visiting the museum...
