Yesterday Orlando, today the World (Epcot)...
... I really, really like this ride, a great way to end our Epcot visit.
Time to think of where to go for dinner, and Elise fancied CiCi's Pizza & Pasta Buffet, which is where the terrific Magic Mining Co. Restaurant used to be. Another good call as it was on the way home and was excellent value at less than twenty bucks for three buffet dinners with 32oz sodas...!!! When we got back to the villa the rest of the group were already there ...
The theme park days
... lines for the food, lines for the rides, lines for the transport to get you from one end of the park to the other, lines for the souvenirs, lines to take photo's. I would like to think that this will be the end of all the lines and crowds but I have a feeling this has just been a practice run.
Off to bed (if our sugar filled veins will let us) as we are off to the big apple early tomorrow morning ...
A day to recover and then off to Space!
... little shop and bought some juice, a danish and chocolate milk at some stage .... and might I say we both thoroughly enjoyed our day off!!
We had hired a car to be picked up at 5 pm today so we rang and organised for their free bus pickup to take us to Disney Car Care... about a 20 min drive from our hotel. They picked us up around 4.30 and we got the car no problem. I had checked directions ...
Disney World
... pacifiers and what-not (I think my suitecase is smaller than some of the bags I saw people brought for a day in a Disney World park)...fathers were meekly trotting behind laboriously dragging an exorbitant amount of Disney shopping bags - the obligatory Mickey ears and other junk...and how can you stop and smell the roses (or in this case - ...
The familia visits: Part Deux
... favorite park! We did Tower of Terror and Rock n Roller Coaster twice each, before getting Fastpasses for Toy Story Mania. Throughout the day we enjoyed the Lights, Motor Action Show, Muppetvision 3-D, Beauty and the Beast, etc. etc. However, the highlight of the day was being selected to be the stars of the Backlot Tour show!!!! Matt, Patrick, and I obviously jumped at the opportunity, and we definitely rocked it! If the Oscars had ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Embassy Suites Hotel Orlando - International Drive / Convention Center
Great service in a hurricane!
We checked in for 4 nights around 31st August 04 with a great rate from the Visitors Centre on I-drive. We had to book a further 4 nights when Hurricane Frances struck. Every single member of hotel staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. As there was an evening curfew and local restaurants werent open in the day, the hotel provided superb hot food for a really reasonable price (making special arrangements for our vegetarian daughters!). Breakfast each day was great and the evening drinks reception an unexpected bonus. Our rooms were clean and comfortable, and I could not praise the hotel enough for the treatment we received when the hotel was completely full and operating under difficult conditions.
Enjoyed our stay...
We just returned from a stay at this hotel. We thought the hotel was nice and better than we expected. We had to take a handicap room and they gave us a credit to use at the hotel. There was really no difference except some things were positioned lower. The daily "free" happy hour was great as was the continental breakfast (hot food). There is an indoor and outdoor pool and a jacuzzi. Our kids enjoyed the hotel and so did we. The location is also great and nearby to lots of attractions.
If I had to pick a negative - it is expensive to use the laundry ($2 to wash and dry). Staff members could be more friendly (smile and interact more with vistors), no one was rude to us but did not get the feeling they were going the "extra" mile. But for the price we paid we were satisfied.
Not up to Embassy Suites reputation
We have stayed at other Embassy Suites and have always been delighted. This was not the case in Orlando. The room that we had was of such poor quality we took photos to attach to our letter of complaint. There were bugs on the box spring(not noted untill we were leaving) The bathroom looked like it was from an old Motel 7. The furniture was worn and had holes. There was a huge fan outside our window that turned on and off every 15 min, waking us up. What a rip off for what we paid, almost 200.00 a night.
Website is very deceiving!
I was very disappointed in this outdated hotel. The website makes it look much nicer than it actually is. Nothing worked! The outside pool area is very small and the jacuzzi was not working. The refridgerator in our room was broken and so was the ac. The hotel is next to a highway and a helicopter tour area so there was a constant stream of loud helicopters hovering overhead. We changed rooms on the second day and same thing. We ended up leaving after two days and for the same price booked a really nice room at the caribe royale resort on the corner of international drive and world center drive - it was excellent! My kids loved the pool there and the game room.
What a hotel
we have stayed at this hotel five times and we are going back next year this hotel is great the rooms are very clean and the staff is great so is the free breakfast and the manegers free beverages for two hours enery night its great just what you need after the parks
Very Dissapointed
Heard good things about this hotel, but was dissapointed. On arrival the room stank from damp. OK we were going through a tropical storm at the time, so I let it go and just asked for the room to be freshened up. This didn't happen even after repeated requests. Eventually got fed up and bought our own. This cured the smell problem. The drain plug in the bathroom sink didn't work, got it fixed only for it to break again. The toilet blocked more than once. Generally the room was tatty and in need of re-decorating.The info states there are complimentary beverages and cocktails, website still states this. My partner asked for a Pina Colada and was told by the barman, "We don't do cocktails".On the other hand the complimentary breakfast buffet was good, although we did see one or two cockroaches wandering around and I don't think they were guests.
Loved it - would definately stay again!!
We stayed at the Embassy Suites for our honeymoon. We found the hotel lived up to all our expectations!!! We found it to be really central.
The staff were all exremely nice and helpful. Towels and sheets were practically changed everyday and the room was really well looked after and very spacious!!!! The drinks reception in the evening was better than we thought it would be. Breakfast is the morning is not to be missed - there's a variety of food to suite everyone!! I would definately recommend this hotel for families and couples - one thing I will say is that the bar in the hotel is really quiet - not for people looking for lively nightlife, but then again Pointe Orlando is literally 5 minutes walk away. Excellent holiday - excellent hotel.
"Embassy was Wonderful"
The Embassy was wonderful, the location to the staff was excellent and being right next my favorite resturant "The Olive Garden" in walking distance made it even more great!!
Good hotel
Seemed a bit old for an Embassy Suites, but very clean and comfortable. Service was excellent, as could be expected. Worth the price.
One of the front desk staff was rude, it made me feel not welcomed.
One of the front desk staff was rude, it made me feel not welcomed. Yes, she was probably having one of these bad days, but why take it on me? There is so much choice of hotels at International drive Orlando, next time I will stay at a hotel that makes me feel welcomed :) Ron.
