Orlando 2010
We flew to Orlando with Scott's parents and brother on December 15th and stayed until December 22nd. The plane rides went smooth and Talia wore her seat belt without crying this time! It was a great trip and we all survived without killing each other! ha ha.
We took Talia to Sea World, Universal Studios, Disney's Magic Kingdom and Disney' …

Not mentioned it before, but the televisions haven't worked here since we arrived, and this is apparently due to lightning taking out the cable box during a recent storm. The cable guy has been round but to no great effect. So it was an evening of musical tv's to get one to work in the lounge so Elaine, Rob & myself can watch the Formula One Grand Prix of India at 05:30 tomorrow morning...!!!

... as it was a bit rainy (not a good one for theme parks), although I was by now recovering quite well from my head cold, Mark was being hit hard with it - so we needed a fairly easy day to just roam. We didnt come away with much, but did enjoy looking around. This particular centre had 180 different outlets from Ralph Lauren to North Face. We decided to find a supermarket and get ourselves some easy cook dinners and cereal so we ...

Matt was the deckhand, and I was the captain! I had to use binoculars and look up in the air...steer madly when being attacked, and basically go nuts. I must say it was Overacting 101, and I enjoyed every second of it!!!!

Continental breakfast was very good, along with manager's reception. Wish pool would have been indoor and that they would have done busing to Disney parks.

Historical Traveler Reviews Embassy Suites Hotel Orlando - International Drive / Jamaican
Highly Recommend!
We stayed here for a week at the beginning of September. The room was spacious, clean - fresh towels every day, and the maids came in and cleaned every day also. The complimentary breakfast - there was plenty of choice, fruit, omelettes, eggs and bacon etc. and the staff were helpful. It was ourt first time in Florida and we would defintitely stay here again, Also in a great location with an I-trolley stop at the end of the road and a fantastic restaurant opposite the hotel!!
Embassy Jamaican Court was Terrific!
My family and I stayed at the Embassy Suites Jamaican Court and the entire staff was friendly and courteous. Each morning at breakfast there was a different treat for the kids. They had balloons, stickers, coloring books and one morning there was a clown. My kids loved it! Our hotel suite was clean and quite comfortable for 2 adults and 3 kids. Each evening when we returnrd to our suite, the room attendant added nice little touches to the bathroom. It was nice to get back to our room and see that the staff was as glad for us to be there as we were glad to be there. We can't wait to go back!
Great hotel for a family reunion
Our family has had family reunions in Chicago, Detroit, Rhode Island, and Chattanooga, but never have we experienced service like the service at the Embassy Suites, Jamaican Court Hotel in Orlando, Florida. During the reunion, all staff consistently made an extra effort to insure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The service exceeded the expectations of all family members in attendance. The food at the welcome dinner and banquet prepared by the hotel was outstanding. The full breakfast included in the room rate, served as a marvelous gathering point each morning for family members. There was wonderful variety, the food was delicious and well presented. The hotel is located on Jamaican Court, just off of International Dr. It was close to lots of attractions, small shops and restaurants. The suites are a bit small, and the hotel was under renovation, but no one in our family found this to be a problem.
Stay if you like cockroaches
We stayed at the Embassy Suites in April to May. We had cockroaches in the room. We called the front desk who just said, sorry about that. We had to ask to have someone come and spray something to get rid of them. No one came, and we still had roaches that night. We called again and this time someone came up. We stayed here for a convention that was payed for by our employers and the other hotels in the area were booked. We did like the free cocktail hour in the evening, but the appetizers weren't great, just popcaorn and nachos most nights. The free breakfast in the morning was good. They have a big selection. The pool was awful, the water was cold and there's a freeway right behinde the pool, so if you don't mind the sounds of trucks and cars driving by while you relax by the pool then it would be perfect. Overall, I will never stay in this hotle again.
Gave me the creeps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We stayed @ the Embassy Suite Jamican Court. Upon arrival, the
strong odor of chlorine was overwhelming. It didn't get any better. The
rooms were nasty looking.I didn't want to take a shower or lay in the
bed.If we had to stay there longer than a night,we would have found
another hotel. All Embassy Suites are not created EQUAL!!!!!!
Some things to consider before booking here.
I selected this property versus the convention center International Drive, based on reviews. Both had negative, and positive so it was hard to choose. Location is good, and is nice atrium style typical Embassy building. The rooms I found to be smaller than other Embassy Suites, that I had stayed in, however, I did see what another poster wrote about the corner rooms looking a little bigger. The carpeting was stained in our Room 303 everywhere pretty dirty, and I didn't want to take my shoes off, or have my child on the floor due to this, but otherwise the room seemed to good order, and was clean. They have no restaurant at this hotel, only room service, and we ordered two NY strip steak sandwiches, at $9.95 each medium cooked. We had the worst steak sandwich ever. The bread was cold, old, and the steak was so well done, it tasted like leather. The fries looked like the cheapest shoestring, and that was it. They also charge 18% service charge which is standard, but way too much for in my opinion very bad food. I called, and they just said we are sorry, but did not offer to send something else, or credit, or anything, just, "I will tell the chef for you". The pool was closed, the water was green. We had to push to ask for another pool to go swim in even though the other Embassy was less than 1/2 mile away, but they said that one is corporate owned, and this one was a franchise, so they sent us next door to use another hotel pool. The reception drinks were very watered down, or weak, and no snacks of any kind were served. Breakfast station eggs/omelettes were the best choice, with make you own toast, as the other choices deep fried bacon, spicy sausage, grits, or hashbrowns, all cold, and were not very good. I saw a piano, and had heard there was evening music, but no one ever played, and it was a Saturday evening. It would have been nice. This hotel is okay, just consider that it may not be the perfect getaway, if you are like me, and expect a little more. The interior lobby and atrium area smells like chlorine due to the pool which is half indoors, and half outside, plus it has many water features, so the smell is a little overwhelming. I won't be staying here again, not that because it was that awful, but only because I would prefer something newly built, but I am sure it is fine for most. They must clean the carpeting in the guest rooms soon.
Very Nice Hotel ~ We will be back :o)
Embassy Suites are by far my favorite properties and this one was very nice. We stayed there in February of 2004. Our room was clean and just what I have come to expect from ES. The atrium was very nice, the front desk staff smiling and courteous and the morning breakfast staff (cooks and bussers) were very nice and accomodating for us with our 3 small kids. The one thing I did not like is that the hotel is a little distance from Disney and therefore does not offer a shuttle to Disney properties (They do, however, offer one to Sea World). Overall, I would return to this hotel when I return for a vacation to Orlando!
Was dissapointed 1
having already stayed at the other embassy suites (opposite bahama breeze restaurant/bar) i was dissapointed that this one wasn't nearly as nice. we stayed 2 nights 30th and 31st dec.03 obviously very very busy but the staff weren't as accomodating. i had reserved 2 corner location rooms, having booked 10 months in advance! but only got one.
they were slightly larger than the other suites. breakfast staff were wonderful so credit there. small pool half in and half out. must say the place was very clean.wouldn't pay the money for staying there again. nice cheaper places available especially if you book well in advance.
Going downhill, but passable.
Have stayed at this hotel with my family of 4 on three different occasions, including july, 2003. Have definitely noticed a steady decline in services offered, condition of property. Hotel is in a great location, within walking distance of numerous shops and dining options.
Will choose a newer facility on next visit to area.
Good value
My husband and I escaped for a long weekend of fun in Florida. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was clean and the service was good.
