We decided to pick up Route 66 in Oklahoma City. Getting a late start we estimated arriving in OKC about dark. Traveling on I-40 we traveled non-stop part of the time in the rain. After crossing the state line and nearing our destination it begain to clear. We arrived at the Embassy Suites, checked in and it being late walked across the street and ate at a Chilis Restaurant. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States socks... you arrive before noon.
The highest the temp reached on the 120 mile trip was 49F. With the heated grips on and my winter gloves, I was fine in my lined jacket and regular shirt until the last twenty minutes. Then the thought of cranking up the heat in the motel room sustained me. There were no rain showers although the clouds were thicker, lower and darker over OKC.
The temp is higher now, they are expecting to reach 54F today.

After the museum we headed into Bricktown for lunch at a Mexican restaurant before going to the Crystal Bridge which is a tropical rainforest in an unusual looking building. There were all sorts of tropical trees and some unusual little lizards which were very difficult to spot. After a wander through the gardens outside we went back to Bricktown for a trip on the canal that was built in 1999. The canal runs in between some old warehouses ...
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States calmyourjets... Nick, Chelsea, and Danny attended the 8 o’clock mass at St. Joseph’s Cathedral, located in downtown OK City just beside the old Murrah building. Nick and Chelsea enjoyed the mass, as Danny presided as lector, and Buddha as the priest. They enjoyed the deepness of Dan’s strong voice, as well as the animation of Buddha’s reading/acting of the gospel, and great sermon. After a mass, Danny took the two on a brief tour of the fake O.S ...
