A day by the pool, then flying home....almost
We had pizza and salad, with beer delivered to the room for lunch then we went back to the pool. As we were laying there we saw parachutes coming down. It was the Skydivers landing on the Hilton Beach. John and I had already looked into it but at $850 for us both, we didn't do it. Peter picked us up from the Hilton and we flew out of the Nadi …
Los Angeles/Bon Voyage/Sea Days
Our flight on AA from ORD was smooth. The Embassy Suites was in a perfect location to walk to Burger King, and we had a room view of the Hollywood sign. We even picked up our car rental at Budget the next day since it was next door to the hotel. Had a full day planned touring LA areas. Hollywood sign up close and walked on the many stars in the …
We're here!!

It's so weird. We are in a different country and apart from the accents and the fact that everyone drives on the wrong side of the road, we could be at …
Day 1: Some Wicked L.A. Traffic
It's finally here! We left about 4:30 p.m. from Salt Lake, after we dropped off Lexie with Stacie's parents. We walked down to the Delta terminal, all the way to the end where they keep the small business class planes. Of course, our plane was late arriving, so we spent an extra 30 minutes next to the "Cancer In The Box" smoking room. We had an …
California Dreamin'
Awaiting the bus to the Sydney international terminal, I struck up a conversation with a couple in their 60's travelling to LAX on the same route as me. We stayed together chatting the whole way through customs/immigration and consequently sat together on the plane to LA. We chatted long into the flight and discovered we lived no more than 10 …

Family friendly hotel that offers nice big rooms and a good breakfast
This review is the subjective opinion of a TravelPod member and not of TravelPod.com.
Very close to LAX, spacious rooms with extra sitting room, very comfortable and clean. Cooked breakfast to order along with a large selection of other breakfast items, very good. In house restaurant also very satisfactory, meals enjoyable.

Historical Traveler Reviews Embassy Suites LAX North Los Angeles
Pick your room carefully!
Caution to travelers staying at the Embassy Suites LAX North. Based on our experience during a 3 night stay there at the end of March, your room location can have a dramatic impact on the quality of your stay. Rooms that look out over the very busy Airport Blvd. will be subject to traffic noise 24/7. Lots of bus and truck traffic all night, stopping and accelerating from the traffic signal at Airport & 98th ave. The opposite side of the hotel does not face the street and is definitely quieter until 5 am when the garbage trucks arrive. Our advice - avoid the Airport Blvd. side at all costs. Otherwise, expect your typical Embassy Suites experience - very helpful staff, decent breakfast and manager's happy hour, etc.
A Delightful experience
I stay at the LAX area hotels almost every week as I fly home from business trips. This is my preferred hotel. Rooms are large 2 room suites, great location to LAX and full breakfast is wonderful with omelets, pancakes, pastries, fruit, bacon, etc.
Having stayed here at least a dozen times, I'm surprised from one of the earlier reviews that someone called this place a dump. Very hard for me to imagine someone being that unhappy with any Embassy Suites, and this is certainly one of the nicer ones.
Also, this hotel seems quieter than most others by LAX. As you might expect, planes fly over the area until very late and starting early in the morning, but I've never noticed it like I do at some of the other area hotels.
Nice Hotel
Stayed at this hotel for one night as we had an early morning flight.
The room is quite large with a separate bedroom and living area. Bathroom was large and came with a mini fridge and microwave.
I liked this hotel but stay away from the Century Cafe in the lobby, we thought this would be a nice dinner as the hotel is nice but after waiting for more than 45 minutes for our food, it was the worst tasting meals we have ever ever had. We even tried each others meal's and couldnt decide which is the worst tasting. Even my sons chicken strips were awful. All three of us left our dinners uneaten and wanted to complain but there was absolutley no restaurant employees around to complain to. The service was really really bad, we only saw our waitress twice, once to take our order, and twice to deliver the awful food and drop the bill.
The next morning we all had stomach aches from the food and were leary of the breakfast buffet, but was pleasently surprised it is not put on by that same restaurant.
The breakfast buffet was excellent, it had a cook to order with eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, muffins, danish, tons of fruit, ect ect. This was the best buffet breakfast I have ever had at a hotel.
They also offer a free airport shuttle every half hour to LAX.
What a dump!
What a dump! Room was in terrible shape, holes in the blanket, chunks of wood missing from the night stand, the phone was dirty and poor lighting. I had just flown in from FRA and was in no mood to take this up with the hotel at check in but in the morning I spoke with the manager and they did the right thing they credited my bill. Shuttle to LAX has to be called for pick up, I would suggest staying at the Hilton-LAX, it is old but clean.
Thank goodness for Embassy Suites LAX!
I have just come back from a trip around the States and a cruise in the Caribbean with my husband, mother-in-law and three children in October. After cutting our trip short we decided to stay at this hotel overnight before flying home to Australia. To be honest, for the rate, $139 incl breakfast, (we had 2 rooms so paid $278)we really didn't expect much. We were very pleasantly surprised. Being a five star kinda girl I am pretty hard to please but I have to say the Embassy LAX exceeded all expectations. Proximity to the airport was excellent and we were collected from LAX by the hotel shuttle withing 15min of calling the hotel, free of charge of course. Upon entering the room my first impression was "a little claustrophobic" as the dining, wetbar and lounge area has no "outside" windows. The only window in this room looks out into the atrium, this is the same for all the rooms in this hotel. But, then you walk through into the bedroom area, which is quite large, it has a balcony which you can open to get some outside light into the room. The decor is reasonably new and very tastefully done. The bathroom was lovely and also spacious. Travelling with three children, including a toddler and a young baby, this hotel was a godsend! The breakfast was delicious, freshly cooked to order, pretty much anything you would want, quickly and with a smile. Lots of pastries, fresh fruit and cereals to choose from if you wish. Dinner for the kids was lovely, just when I was about to give up finding a decent hotel meal for my children, the Embassy came through with the goods! The room was clean, service excellent, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in LA particularly if you have a family.
Excellent accomodations
Spacious rooms, quiet quarters near the airport. Enjoyed the hospitality hour and the cooked to order breakfast in the moning. Free hotel shuttle was also a real plus. Everything I was looking for in a hotel before embarking on a long flight.
The best LAX Airport Hotel
The best LAX Aiport Hotel and I have tried them
all.
The King Suites were beautifully decorated,
the bed linens and curtains far superior to a
lot of five star Hotels I have stayed in.
An added bonus, the free cooked to order
breakfast.
Just a tip, ring the Hotel for pick up.
You can use the free phones where you collect
your bags.
For the size of the rooms, to the breakfast
and managers reception, the best value by far
in the Aiport area.
Great For Families
Our stay happened to coincide with the NBA All Star weekend, and all area hotels were apparently sold out. We took advantage of the complimentary airport shuttle which arrived shortly after our pick-up call. Notwithstanding that the hotel was very busy, staff was professional and friendly at all times. The room layout is ideal for families. Hotel is well maintained and rooms appear to have been recently refurbished. The breakfast was certainly far better than expected for a "free" meal, and included a selection of cooked and cold items (including fresh fruit). Overall, the hotel far exceeded expectations and we would not hesitate to stay again.
Very spacious
I enjoyed my stay at this Hotel. We are a family of 5 and it provided plenty of space for my three children. Room service is moderately priced and the free breakfast is great. The rooms are very clean and include a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. The only bad I could find with the room is that the sliding glass door that leads to the balcony is not child-proofed. Small children must be watched at all times.
Recently renovated
Recently renovated this hotel is worth every cent. Had a great top floor suite which was quiet and spacious. The atrium was a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of the day.
