Quite an uneventful day of driving up I75 with tons of truck traffic and not feeling quite up to speed (tiny touch of a cold). We made it to Tifton, GA and found a KOA. As we pulled into our campsite the skies opened with a deluge of rain, thunder and lightening. Bob and Meatball got out; Bob set up the RV and took Meatball for a much needed walk. Neither seemed to mind the rain. I made dinner and had a glass of wine. Nice evening of cable TV and ongoing ...

We stayed the night at the Hilton Garden Inn - Tifton Georgia last night which I would definitely reccomend. We had a reservation in Louisville for tonight but we've cancelled it and are going to attempt to drive all the way home. Eek! I think we've all had too much vacation at this point and are missing home and our own beds.

... but it took 4 1/2hrs. - traffic was crawling south of Atlanta -- volumes of Christmas shoppers / transients?? Got to campground in dark - nobody around and very few campers either / pouring rain (but warm ~60')...never fun checking in after hours in the dark ...but managed on finding the tenting sites ( no I don't pitch one!!)...and used the washrooms -- then "in for the night" -- because the weather alerts were warning of heavy rain/ winds -- possible hail/tornadoes ( ...

After Davis' capture, he was imprisoned for 2 years without trial. While he was imprisoned, his citizenship was revoked for 111 years, until in 1978 when President Jimmy Carter re-instated it.

Davis retired to Biloxi, Mississippi where he wrote him memoirs. He died on December 6, 1889 in New Orleans. He was interred at the Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, VA.
