      ... and once again I had to submit to mother nature. I retreated to the beach to lay down and stare into the vast empty space filled with so many little stars above me. It was pitch black where we were. But before I could start looking at the lights above me, I noticed an unnatural looking green glow below.       ... to say, it played a key role during the latter part of WWII in the Pacific. Eventually, this ship was decommissioned in 1991 and is now here in Corpus Christi as a National Monument.

      This western side of the Gulf is a much busier place than we earlier thought. It has tourism of course, but what we noticed the most is the huge amount of OIL production throughout the area. There are so many oil rigs out in the ocean; I counted 14 from our walk on the beach. ...

      ... boardwalk to the beach then he returned to "G/G" to get some towels. The boys played for a while in the sand and a little in the water. After about 30 minutes, we returned to "G/G", cleaned the kids up then they departed for home. It was nice to be with them for a while and the boys got used to us. We'll see how long that lasts.

      Dinner tonight was a catered affair, not great but OK. Overall, the meals this weekend ...
