Dear Family and Friends,<br><br>Today we spent the day on a train excursion traveling on the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, only 9 miles up the road from our hotel in Cherokee. Lasting 4.5 hours, the trip took us around 60 miles round ...

... but they were closed also! It was only 6:30pm! I asked some police officers if they recommended any restaurant around that was walking distance, so they gave me a name called, "The Whig." Let me say, it was a hidden restaurant and a bit spooky as seen in the pictures below. I walked down and inside and walked out. There were a lot of people in there. It was like a cult or something, but I am pretty sure they were all college students ...

... because the government respects the fact that people are human and are gonna do as they wish so why not put clean healthy laws on it and make a lil revenue while they're at it!! My favorite hostel was in Amsterdam even tho it was kinda a hotel and my least fave was Belgium...favorite food was the Indian food in Amsterdam but close second was all the schnitzel, especially in Heidelburg!! The Heineken experience was a blast!! And never start a car while in first ...

5pm<br><br>South of the Border is this rediculous stop on I 95 just south of the South Carolina and North Carolina border. Hence the name. Anyway, they have huge dinasour statues, gift shops, and terrible food. I have been wanting to check it out all summer and I'm stoked I finally did. I bought a bag some nic nacs and a tank top. Tyler got a blanket. <br><br>We didn't take any pictures. It just wasn't that kind of a visit.

... up at this very awesome bar with fish nets and stuffed fish on the walls called The Salty Nut.  Thpogh the name didn't match the decor, it seemed like a fun place. <br><br>After a beer or two Ty and I realized that every guy in the bar had tan cacky shorts.  Tyler had frayed cargo shorts and I was wearing jean shorts.  We aparently didn't recieve the memo.<br><br>We didn't stay out too long.  

... and friendly? Well I really don't think that the metered parking scam is very nice at all!!! In the words of Stephanie Tanner, "How Rude!"<br><br>Either way, we laughed it off and had some yummy calamari and spring roll appetizers at the Liberty Tap Room &amp; Grill. When we got back to the hotel, the front desk had soft, gooey chocolate chip and white chocolate macadamia nut cookies which ended the night on a sweeter note.<br><br>

This is the end, my friends. After careful deliberation, I've decided that of the schools we visited, I will apply to Yale, Dartmouth, and Columbia. Williams is a maybe, if I can convince myself that it wouldn't be so bad to live in a town of 3000 in the middle of the Massachusetts ...

... So, we were in bed by 10:00 p.m. That gave us an early start this morning. We were on the road by 8:30 a.m. If we drive straight thru, our ETA would be midnight. However, we will not drive straight thru. With the snow fat home, we will not be able to pull the camper and truck into the driveway. So, we will stop overnight and arrive early afternoon tomorrow. :-)<br>

... a word. I paid for my gas. It turns out that anybody spending over $10 at the station could fill out a ballot to win a gun. Yes, a raffle for a gun. Only in America. I wasn't too sure about this but the cashier said, "S'okay if yer na frum round here. Weel ship it to yuz." I began to chuckle at the thought of being FedEx'd a gun across the border.
