Embassy Stes Little Rock

I left OKC with sun and cloud and 44 F. But as miles of farmfields and trees passed, the clouds thickened up and I wondered when the thermometer would hit 50. It did in spite of the persistent cloud cover, about an hour outside of Little Rock. But, hey, it did not rain.

My trip was great, and I'm glad I went. I plan on heading out again on a similar journey at some point, but I don't know when. I wish I could have traveled more, especially in the western United States, but it was either come home and get a job or work on the road, so I chose home and job. I know some people take jobs on the road, work for a few weeks and keep traveling ...

Ok I have to do a better job of writing in this blog every night as I am forgetting what has happened and what we have eaten ( for those of you that are foodies.) Ok..so after a unfound 126 Exit and many phone calls, all of our group (with exception of Whimpy's car...we temporarily lost her but she is stoped a few exits away!) stopped at a Wendy's for lunch. The trip has been pretty uneventful so far. Thnakfully no break downs or any big problems. We are almost done eating and then will head back on the road we are a little over a thrid of the way there!! And trust me all of the girls are sooooooo excited, and the coaches are pumped ...

After a full day of packing and cleaning the house on Saturday, we woke
up Sunday morning ready to go. We had a few last minute things to take
care of, so we left a little later than we had planned - around 8:45
a.m. Google Maps and the GPS had us taking 316 to I-20 in Atlanta, so
we followed it. There was very little traffic on a Sunday morning. From
Atlanta, we headed west on I-20 into Birmingham, Alabama. In

Lunch at McDonald.s for lunch.
Drove toward Little Rock.Stop at an Arkanasas TIC and obtain maps,info and hotel coupons.
Stayed at the Comfort Inn Airport.Little Rock. and use the discount coupon.
Had a pizza dinner at Boston Restaurant.Our waitress is a lonely Filipino American.

... for the night (5 to 9). Leonard took us on Post (the base) again and we purchased all of the Monster Coffee drinks that they had in stock (23 cans) for the road. After that Steve, Leonard and I went to Applebee's for dinner. This morning Leonard made Steve a big breakfast of bacon and eggs while I finished Anne's new website for her rental property on the Dutch side St. Maarten in the Caribbean - www.coralshore.com. ... our last few stops being, Casa de Tim and Jen Lamb (Aspen), Casa de Papa Bear Lamb (Little Rock) and Casa de Mama Lamb (Asheville). She has been holding up remarkably well!! It was nice to leave the snowy Rockies and finally see flowers once again. The daffodils have sprung and temps in Arkansas were in the seventies, a nice respite from the -4 degrees we experienced in Jackson Hole. Papa Bear ...
