Karen's and Sharon's Day
I enjoy Vegemite toast for breakfast, then Sharon and I are off to the local hairdresser for my hair cut and colour, the red colour turns out great, we all know how getting a red colour at a hairdresser can go so wrong.
Manicure and Pedicure Spa treatments for both of us which were amazing. Then off for a girly lunch of soup and salad. I try to put my tray and dishes back at the end of our meal and drop the lot on the tiled floor. ...
... we can do it in 4 hours easy. Google maps is saying it will take 6 1/2 hours and we soon find out why - the New Jersey Turnpike - OMG!!! 5 lanes heading south that merge down into 2 and are bumper to bumper for miles. We had to turn off to get gas at a gas station alongside the turnpike and the there was a queue of 6 cars 5 wide, that's 30 cars, waiting to get fuel. There were at least 50 women waiting in queue for the ladies room too.
... an amazing breakfast at the Galleria - omelette, fried potato and toast for $3.98. I had soup for lunch for $3.00. Food is very well priced in America.
We revisit the Tasting Room in Reston to buy John and Sharon a thank you gift for their hospitality - a couple bottles of 2011 Petite Sirah. They are closed but they open up early just for us - how nice.
... it a go - although Sharon was driving, so I had to walk up to the window anyway. Great concept though, wish they had these in Australia.
It is such a beautiful day today so we are going on another Murphy Tour to Antietam National Battlefield in Maryland, which is another state away.

It is raining today so we are pleased to not be on the bike and be chauffer driven around wineries. We decide to stay out for dinner and John & Shazza take us to Hunters Head Pub where we have Fish and Chips, Beef Guinness Stew and Shepherds Pie - really good food.
