Now that I have no where to be there is no reason to make 500 miles a day. We decided to pull off about half way to Iowa. Having driven in rain for an hour it looks like it is coming back. We waited, and waited, and waited and then behold and lo (I'm dislexic) :). the lady showed up with her car and said "YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ENTRYWAY"---DUH---Anywho, her card worked and we squeeked thru the entryway, superior driving skills will overcome every time...
Once we got in our spot and hooked up everthing was a-ok for the rest of our stay....

... it's horn. The fog in the air made the spotlight cut through and look really cool. At about 2AM some rowdy, possibly drunk, guys drove through the park and screamed "WAKE UP!" followed by a few rooster crows in my direction. They were hanging out by the riverside for a while and I woke to the loud echoing of a shotgun blast into the river. They didn't stay long after that, thankfully.
