Friendly Staff, Great Breakfast & Swans!

I went to Dallas on a work-related trip, and my coworker selected this property. This was my first stay at an Embassy Suites, and after my great experience here, it will not be my last!

After a long flight and a short ride from Love Field, we walked through the hotel doors to the sound of a jubilant desk clerk saying, "Yay!" She immediately made me smile. It turned out she was from Chicago and was happy to see the Chicago Bears logo on my shirt. She was so welcoming and warm that it really set the tone for a great stay.

We arrived during the manager's reception, which is held nightly from 6-7:30. They offer complimentary light snacks and cocktails to their guests as a thank you for selecting their property. We decided to imbibe before heading to dinner. The vegetable platter was fresh, the mixed nuts were delicious, and the bartender was very nice.

The hotel boasts a large lounge area with couches, chairs and tables that make it feel very homey. It's nice to be able to have a separate area to relax outside the hotel room without having to leave the property. My favorite part of the lobby was the water feature complete with two swans named Baron and Queen. They were so elegant and graceful. It was great to watch them glide along the water.

There is also an indoor pool and spa that could be seen from the lobby, and it looked so refreshing that I was sorry I didn't being my swimsuit.

The rooms are equally fantastic! We stayed in a two room suite with a separate living area and bedroom with two queen beds. They are very clean and comfortable with fluffy comforters and crisp, white sheets. There is ample seating in the living area as well as two desk areas which made working very easy. There are also plugs in the bases of the lamps which is so convenient!

The bathroom was roomy and nicely equipped. The hair dryer they provide is full size and there is lots of counter space. The shower is also roomy, and the water pressure is perfectly steady!

They offer breakfast in the morning. There are many choices including selections that are cooked to order. I opted for the omelet with everything. They even had jalapenos. It was very good and my bacon on the side was nice and crisp. The chef and the breakfast staff were all very courteous and helpful. Other selections included pancakes, oatmeal, varieties of pastries, bagels, English muffins, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, and more! There is a lot of seating in the dining area, so it was easy to settle in and enjoy.

Every staff member I interacted with was incredibly hospitable and engaging. I will happily recommend this property to others, and next time I'm in Dallas, I'll be back!

My doctor recommends a glass of wine a day....lucky I have 6 doctors. This is a shop to revisit! And, I found a vintage and designer label dress shop 'circa77vintage'...heaven. The proprietor is an amazing lady who knows every article in the store and suggested things that fitted like a glove (I bought 2 items). Her knowledge of ...

The UNT (University of North Texas) has an outreach gallery on the square and there is live music for free on Thursday evenings. Tonight is Classical guitar then Jazz vocals. We listened to the classical guitar recital - excellent. As we walked back to the car the Court House was illuminated and all the trees around it had ...

... to recall the events of that day. The cockroach museum lightened things up for us- it was a quick, but memorable stop( wink, wink!). Our drive to Austin was full of exclamations-"Blue Bonnets!! Blue Bonnets on the right!!" The roadside was so colorful. Once in Austin, it was fried chicken at Lucy's- fun to sit out in the cool evening air with a tin bucket of fried chicken- and some FRIED deviled eggs. Yep- gotta get a cholesterol check once we return ...

    This
morning was very exciting and successful morning. After feeding all
of the hoards, we set to work grooming Pep, Dancer and Ranger, I also
helped prepare the horses going to the festival that we had washed
the day before. Elle was trying to do something with Vern's mane ( a
lovely black horse, which has to have some form of cob in him to
explain his thick mane and tail!). When he had arrived he had rubbed

My MP3 player cacked it the night before we left Sydney so we decided to go and fetch me an IPod. Do you know they sell them out of vending machines similar to the candy bar machines?
