Friendly Staff, Great Breakfast & Swans!

I went to Dallas on a work-related trip, and my coworker selected this property. This was my first stay at an Embassy Suites, and after my great experience here, it will not be my last!

After a long flight and a short ride from Love Field, we walked through the hotel doors to the sound of a jubilant desk clerk saying, "Yay!" She immediately made me smile. It turned out she was from Chicago and was happy to see the Chicago Bears logo on my shirt. She was so welcoming and warm that it really set the tone for a great stay.

We arrived during the manager's reception, which is held nightly from 6-7:30. They offer complimentary light snacks and cocktails to their guests as a thank you for selecting their property. We decided to imbibe before heading to dinner. The vegetable platter was fresh, the mixed nuts were delicious, and the bartender was very nice.

The hotel boasts a large lounge area with couches, chairs and tables that make it feel very homey. It's nice to be able to have a separate area to relax outside the hotel room without having to leave the property. My favorite part of the lobby was the water feature complete with two swans named Baron and Queen. They were so elegant and graceful. It was great to watch them glide along the water.

There is also an indoor pool and spa that could be seen from the lobby, and it looked so refreshing that I was sorry I didn't being my swimsuit.

The rooms are equally fantastic! We stayed in a two room suite with a separate living area and bedroom with two queen beds. They are very clean and comfortable with fluffy comforters and crisp, white sheets. There is ample seating in the living area as well as two desk areas which made working very easy. There are also plugs in the bases of the lamps which is so convenient!

The bathroom was roomy and nicely equipped. The hair dryer they provide is full size and there is lots of counter space. The shower is also roomy, and the water pressure is perfectly steady!

They offer breakfast in the morning. There are many choices including selections that are cooked to order. I opted for the omelet with everything. They even had jalapenos. It was very good and my bacon on the side was nice and crisp. The chef and the breakfast staff were all very courteous and helpful. Other selections included pancakes, oatmeal, varieties of pastries, bagels, English muffins, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, and more! There is a lot of seating in the dining area, so it was easy to settle in and enjoy.

Every staff member I interacted with was incredibly hospitable and engaging. I will happily recommend this property to others, and next time I'm in Dallas, I'll be back!

Thanks for following along, and for your prayers for God’s guidance and protection. They are most appreciated. If all goes as planned my next trip will be to Africa and Europe and should start in about 5 ...

From Roswell we drive to Carlsbad Caverns. The caverns are on the Unesco world heritage list, so we decide to pay them a visit. Located 250 meters under ground are loads of stalagmites, stalactites, draperies, soda straws and popcorn. Soda straws being the tiny ones hanging from the ceiling . In Europe we call them Spaghetti. Popcorn are located on the ground. The cavern is beautiful, but we saw an even more beautiful cavern in Slovenia last year, so were a little spoilt. ...

Grampa kept and eye on her while Mama and Baba finished up some things. Even with a house filled with over 30 people, she did great. Poor girl was tired once it was time to eat. Halfway through her hot dog and watermelon, she fell asleep in her high chair. She took a quick nap while everyone ...

Ronald and I took the bus from Taipei Main Station's West Bus Terminal (you have to go out a special exit and it's not really connected to the metro) and paid 90 NT for the bus. It took an hour and dropped us off at Terminal 2 (it goes to both terminals) and the driver was...interesting. He was chewing on a betel nut half the time and we were sitting in the front so we could see everything. Normally when the bus is stopped at a ...

Located on the 6th floor of the Texas School Book Depository (the place where Lee Harvey Oswald supposedly fired the shots), the museum chronicles the Presidency and assassination of JFK. After grabbing some late lunch at the slowest Subway restaurant in the world ...
