I went to Dallas on a work-related trip, and my coworker selected this property. This was my first stay at an Embassy Suites, and after my great experience here, it will not be my last!
After a long flight and a short ride from Love Field, we walked through the hotel doors to the sound of a jubilant desk clerk saying, "Yay!" She immediately made me smile. It turned out she was from Chicago and was happy to see the Chicago Bears logo on my shirt. She was so welcoming and warm that it really set the tone for a great stay.
We arrived during the manager's reception, which is held nightly from 6-7:30. They offer complimentary light snacks and cocktails to their guests as a thank you for selecting their property. We decided to imbibe before heading to dinner. The vegetable platter was fresh, the mixed nuts were delicious, and the bartender was very nice.
The hotel boasts a large lounge area with couches, chairs and tables that make it feel very homey. It's nice to be able to have a separate area to relax outside the hotel room without having to leave the property. My favorite part of the lobby was the water feature complete with two swans named Baron and Queen. They were so elegant and graceful. It was great to watch them glide along the water.
There is also an indoor pool and spa that could be seen from the lobby, and it looked so refreshing that I was sorry I didn't being my swimsuit.
The rooms are equally fantastic! We stayed in a two room suite with a separate living area and bedroom with two queen beds. They are very clean and comfortable with fluffy comforters and crisp, white sheets. There is ample seating in the living area as well as two desk areas which made working very easy. There are also plugs in the bases of the lamps which is so convenient!
The bathroom was roomy and nicely equipped. The hair dryer they provide is full size and there is lots of counter space. The shower is also roomy, and the water pressure is perfectly steady!
They offer breakfast in the morning. There are many choices including selections that are cooked to order. I opted for the omelet with everything. They even had jalapenos. It was very good and my bacon on the side was nice and crisp. The chef and the breakfast staff were all very courteous and helpful. Other selections included pancakes, oatmeal, varieties of pastries, bagels, English muffins, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, and more! There is a lot of seating in the dining area, so it was easy to settle in and enjoy.
Every staff member I interacted with was incredibly hospitable and engaging. I will happily recommend this property to others, and next time I'm in Dallas, I'll be back!

After getting home early hours of the morning it was a sleepy kind of morning. 3.30am I ended up crawling in so it was makeup off and bed! I woke up randomly at half 7 and started to talk to people back home as it was a normal time. Then went back to sleep till 10! And then I went to check on miss Taylor and see if she was alive and kicking. She was still sound asleep with her two kitties. Got the best picture. Then I got myself ready as me ...
... Rental car collected, courtesy car returned, Sunday was a momentous day – for us and Little Ted. We visited Southfork Ranch! In all our times in the Dallas area, not once had we visited this iconic site of the 1980’s soap opera "Dallas". For those who might not have heard of the series, it was the saga of Dallas Oil Magnate, JR Ewing and his family. The Ranch Mansion itself was constructed in the ‘70s by a Quarter-horse breeder/property builder ...
... on the make and it’s not like it’s impossible to get shoes, it’s just that you rarely get much of a selection. I told the assistant my shoe size and was promptly stood in front of a wall of boots in my size. Not one or two pairs, A WALL!! Woohoo!!
I tried on about nine pairs before finally deciding on the pair I really loved. I went for brown not black because after observing the girls over here they’re ...
... District, the Grassy Knoll, Kennedy Plaza and Dealey Plaza along with the Book Depository and the 6th floor museum. On Elm street they even have an X where President Kennedy was shot and fatally wounded. We worked our way through the 6th floor museum and then once done at about 2pm we decided we did in fact have time to run out to South fork Ranch.
Does anybody know what South Fork Ranch is famous for? If ...
... no sink required! Then it's off to the back for a rinse, then two types of conditioner. Meanwhile, you're getting a facial and cold compress for your eyes. Total cost: $2 for the haircut and $2 for the shampoo/massage. Every other week, it's time for a whole body massage. The spa I go to moved to a new place just two blocks from my house - talk about convenient. You have your pick of aromatherapy, Swedish, fatigue relief, hands and feet, and the list goes on. Sip on a mango ...
