Dallas is Gorgeous!
When we were flying over Dallas, I could see a million small bodies of water and green, green, green!
I had no idea Texas was so lush! I guess I should have paid more attention to the scenery in the show. Now I'm really excited to see what the lone star state has to offer a Vegas girl like me!
By the way, I love Love Field! It's …
Stalking the Ewings Deep in the Heart of Texas
Another early morning and another solo breakfast watching House of Cards. A relaxing way to start the day followed by a quick adieu to our boss, goodbye pictures with Baron and Queen, then we all piled into the car and headed toward Southfork Ranch for our "Dallas" moment.
I am a newbie to Dallas and have only been watching the show since …
Fort Worth Fever!
Fortunately, we made quick work of finalizing the expert reports, so we were free for some more touristing! After spending a little time in the city, we wanted to see some cowboys and cowgirls, so Todd, Kristin & I made our way the stockyards in Fort Worth, TX. The way there was guided my my ever trustworthy Siri. Lol!
It felt like it …
Inspecting the Grassy Knoll
We arrived in downtown Dallas HUNGRY, but we didn't know where anything was, so we looked on Yelp for a bit to try to narrow down our options. After a little tiff and some hunger-induced indecision, we decided to just park in an area that was close to the museum and looked like it was also near some food places.
We were in the historical …
Foodtrucks in the Rain
On a break from work, we decided to see a little bit of downtown Dallas. A friend of mine suggested a place to eat so we drove to the mall. Since we all are fans of the show, we wanted to go see Reunion Tower because it is featured in the opening credits for Dallas. We were excited to go up into the Reunion Tower Lookout, but when we got to the …

TravelPod Member ReviewsEmbassy Suites Dallas - Near the Galleria
I went to Dallas on a work-related trip, and my coworker selected this property. This was my first stay at an Embassy Suites, and after my great experience here, it will not be my last!
After a long flight and a short ride from Love Field, we walked through the hotel doors to the sound of a jubilant desk clerk saying, "Yay!" She immediately made me smile. It turned out she was from Chicago and was happy to see the Chicago Bears logo on my shirt. She was so welcoming and warm that it really set the tone for a great stay.
We arrived during the manager's reception, which is held nightly from 6-7:30. They offer complimentary light snacks and cocktails to their guests as a thank you for selecting their property. We decided to imbibe before heading to dinner. The vegetable platter was fresh, the mixed nuts were delicious, and the bartender was very nice.
The hotel boasts a large lounge area with couches, chairs and tables that make it feel very homey. It's nice to be able to have a separate area to relax outside the hotel room without having to leave the property. My favorite part of the lobby was the water feature complete with two swans named Baron and Queen. They were so elegant and graceful. It was great to watch them glide along the water.
There is also an indoor pool and spa that could be seen from the lobby, and it looked so refreshing that I was sorry I didn't being my swimsuit.
The rooms are equally fantastic! We stayed in a two room suite with a separate living area and bedroom with two queen beds. They are very clean and comfortable with fluffy comforters and crisp, white sheets. There is ample seating in the living area as well as two desk areas which made working very easy. There are also plugs in the bases of the lamps which is so convenient!
The bathroom was roomy and nicely equipped. The hair dryer they provide is full size and there is lots of counter space. The shower is also roomy, and the water pressure is perfectly steady!
They offer breakfast in the morning. There are many choices including selections that are cooked to order. I opted for the omelet with everything. They even had jalapenos. It was very good and my bacon on the side was nice and crisp. The chef and the breakfast staff were all very courteous and helpful. Other selections included pancakes, oatmeal, varieties of pastries, bagels, English muffins, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, and more! There is a lot of seating in the dining area, so it was easy to settle in and enjoy.
Every staff member I interacted with was incredibly hospitable and engaging. I will happily recommend this property to others, and next time I'm in Dallas, I'll be back!
