We started out today walking in the small capital city of Frankfurt, Kentucky. As we walked down the street we found out that everyone greets everyone else with a friendly, "Hello." From the visitor center we drove back to Hawks Nest State Park, which is famous for fabulous views of the New River Gorge as well as its great restaurant. We ate a late lunch while gawking at the view and watching folks enjoying the aerial tram and jet boat rides.

... Food! Lunch buffet was 7.95 each, including salad and dessert! eat your heart out all those places that charge you $6.99 for a measly sandwich.

Tonight will be the last night in the RV, and tomorrow we get to sleep in a real bed again. My back is very grateful for this thought.

We left Highlands Wednesday morning in a rain storm and stayed in a rain storm most of the day. We found out later our hometown fireworks scheduled for the 4th of July were cancelled due to heavy rains. The southeast mountains have lived up to their rain forest reputation this year.
