... they are doing math. I love my job!

The job in Indo will start in July so I have some general ideas about what I'll do if I get the gig but nothing set in stone. I am prepared to fly there for an interview ASAP if it is offered. Either way I plan on being there for a few months after Korea. Though I am very stoked on Indo I am going to be firing off resumes at every school I can get my brain on. And yes I am not above working in Mongolia if the deal is right.

Thanks for reading
Busan, Korea Rep. morpheous... in the world, it somewhat lacks the big city charm. Everything is sea salt rusty and industrial looking and basically stinks of fish, mostly due to it's famous raw fish market. Ariving in the evening I mistakenly took the Rough Guide book's advice about bedding down in 'budget' accommodation which led me to the ropiest accomodation I have stayed in in a long time... Without going into too much detail, let's just say that I though I was going mad when I was convinced that ...
Busan, Busan, Korea Rep. snakey... is bec*use there *re buildings everywhere. T*ll, 30 story, or more, high rises house the people of this n*tion. I think seriously like 75% of the people live in condos or *p*rtments. The condo buildings *re EVERYWHERE. Every l*st inch of l*nd is commerci*lized. So, h*ving driven in on the bus, *nd h*ving seen how long it took us to get through town, I s*id to Kolin, "You know, we prob*bly p*ssed right by them on th*t bus ride." I receive the n ...
Busan, Korea Rep. ct_sigchi... br> I had to work on Friday, but I only teach two classes that day, so it was pretty easy going. That evening though, I had the staff dinner. I wasn't given too much info, but to just expect to be at this dinner... When school got out, my co-teacher drove me to an area in Busan called, Haeundae (FUN FACT: the car brand, Hyundai, is not pronounced "hay-un-dye," or "hon-dye" it's pronounced "hyun-day ...
Haeundae, Busan, Korea Rep. missyjoymel... more of a culture shock than actually going to another country. I'm curious as to what my observations of my old daily life will be from a disconnected perspective... Hmm.... The things I know that will be different?? Not having to take my shoes off when entering...well, anywhere.... Mexican food. Not having to wash, and then separate all of my trash.....and yes, I said wash (heaven forbid you put something in the trash ...
Sajik-tong, Busan, Korea Rep. missyjoymel... gave me a run for my money. It was my first time after all!! Next time Mr. Monk. Next time....

Next we went to a much smaller and quieter temple, Naewonsa. This temple was a little bit higher in the mountains, so we had to hike a little way to it. The weather started getting a little misty, but not too bad. This temple is unique in particular because only women are allowed to enter it. It was very picturesque--with the weather, nestled up against the mountains ...
Sinp'yŏng, South Gyeongsang, Korea Rep. missyjoymelSo, today is Teacher's Day. A big deal in Korea! In fact for the teachers it means, no classes, a half day, and presents are expected!!! I myself, did not receive that many gifts, but what I got is really special. I got some red carnations, a really nice "Korea" keychain from one of my favorite students, a candle set, and from a girl who's always been pretty quiet sol far, I got this letter:

Melisa,

Today is Teacher's Day. You are ...
Sajik-tong, Busan, Korea Rep. missyjoymelLet me tell you a little bit about trash and how it's collected: Sunday: General trash and food. Regular trash has to be thrown out in special bags that you can only buy at stores close to your house. They cost around $5 for ten bags, and they're the size of a Wal-mart bag. The food has to be thrown out in special buckets. Monday: Plastic bottles, cardboard containers, and yoghurt cups. These don't need a special ...
Busan, Korea Rep. missyjoymel... to the train station where we a got a room for good bargain. The centre was lively with the street vendors and all the hustle bustle around them. I'd love to buy loads of nice items they sold there but we decided to leave the shopping for Seoul as we ship some of our clothes etc. to home from there. The next day we checked out the famous Haendae-beach which is also known as Waikiki beach of Korea. Well the beach was long and the sand lightbrown ...
Busan, Korea Rep. norsu... snap with this helpful chap we left with one of the barmaids, only to find the CD stall had packed up and gone home for the night. Undeterred she led us down some side streets where she was joined by her young teenage brother. She explained the mission to him and we all set out together, in search of the hallowed CD. Not only did she bring us to a music shop, and hunt down the CD but the owners of the shop gave us a discount on our purchase. Busan was beginning to ...
