    Beach Paradise

A travel blog entry by anlnewby on Jun 11, 2015

Today started like the last few. An early wake up for me and a nice gentle sleep in for Lisa. Today Lisa was happy to make breakfast and did a wonderful job. The day started cloudy and we weren't sure whether it would be a good day to camp out at the beach for the whole day. We decided to go anyway and the cloud cover soon moved to a beautiful sunny day. The water was amazing and fresh like ice to our warm ...

... small compared to Santorini, but the beaches here are way better. It's a lot more "resorty" than I thought it would be. I can't believe we only paid eight euros a night! We met up with the group and shared a pizza and caesar salad for dinner. We figured it would be cheaper for the four of us to get a taxi to town than each of us buying bus tickets. There's only five taxi's on the entire island, if that gives you an idea of how small it. The town area ...

When it came time that our room was ready he explained that the superior sea view we booked and paid for was not available till tomorrow so we had the 'family suite' for one night instead.

I was spitting tacks as he had obviously double booked. I did a preliminary questioning of this to which I started to get a bit ...

... was on a higher deck and at the less moving part of the ferry (allegedly) and had a lounge with couches to stretch out on. I'm thankful first-class also had nice bathrooms.....let's just say I'll never make it as a fisherman or a pirate :( Nick says the sea bands are pseudoscience, I say it could have been a lot worse without them. Now we've arrived at our hotel. Santorini is approx ...

    Stunning Santorini

Goodbye Crete and the best food we have had on our holiday to date. Our wonderful maitre'd at the Galaxy hotel Hara was the most attentive and generous I have ever come across. Up early as we had been warned by a tour guide we met that the ferries fill quickly, we were at the port just after 7:45 for a 9:45 departure. A long wait, but we were at the front for loading, and once we got to business class we were ...
