... play area in the museum to keep the kids engaged while Lulu and Mark soaked in the museum's displays.

We learned at the Menno-Hof not to take pictures of the locals so we didn't, but there is always Google Images here to get an idea.

... couldn't raise enough oomph to go then. So today we made the effort to go to the Indiana community which is approx 20 miles from the hotel we stayed at, in a little town called Nappanee.
We paid an entry fee so that we could go on a guided tour of part of the original house. Apart from the clothing, it was a tad disconcerting to find the old wash tub, and manual wringer. I remember Mum using these when I was about 5 or ...

... Geez, what did we do before smart phones? We were only a block away, and quickly found where to go. There were several families there waiting. Including some grand parents with their grand kids, anxious for an adventure despite the middle of the night departure. We were called first because we reserved a sleeper car. They hustled us up the steps to the second level, room 6. Room 6 was made up into beds for us. ...

Hi Everyone,

Though this entry is way past overdue, I must admit that the past two weeks have literally been a whirlwind...

Starting with a crazy, fun sleepover at the center on July 12th to say good bye to the kids as I prepared for surprising my parents back in the U.S.

Followed by a potentially threatening and terrorizing typhoon sweeping through the Philippines on July 14-16th

Leading to consequential flight cancellations and rerouting to Manila ...
