    Drove into town and got the shuttle bus which drove us about 45 miles up into the Rockies, to Silverton. Went up the Million Dollar Highway, through Coal Bank Pass and Molas Pass (10,910 feet, 3325 metres). Silverton was a mining town, mainly gold but some silver, from 1880s to about 1920.
