I wondered whether it would be out of place to kiss him on both cheeks, and decided that it probably would, so I thanked him and shook his hand instead, before driving on to the hotel, where R&G walked out of the hotel as I drove up.
They were wonderful: Geraldine does an excellent line in hugs, and Richard rang the car rental place to get their advice, which was basically to ignore it.

... we will probably look at fixing up the spare bedroom (painting, really) and pulling down the wood paneling around the fireplace. That may happen in a few months though.

Afterwards mom and I took a long walk on the Animas River Trail and picked up soup fixings for dinner that evening. We prepared Chicken Tortilla Soup and invited the Butzens over to help us eat it. Yum!
