And New Mexico makes six.
... to a couple of hours earlier.
By default, we found the 516 for Aztec and wondered if the ruins there, which the town took its name from, were going to be a $20 National Park type visit, or something over-developed for tourists. You can imagine our pleasant surprise then (as one might say), when we arrived at a sight that was understated - being tastefully landscaped to make the site look as natural looking as possible. Hike a Bike on the C.T.
... on the trail. We about ran out of water that evening and got back on our bikes for an epic hike a bike the next day. Set for the 4th!
... cowards the older we get!!
Shortly after we got back to camp it was time for the Durango and Silverton Narrow-gauge Railroad to come through the middle of our campground so we walked around the corner to watch it go by. It was a beautiful evening and it was fun the wave at the folks on the train as it was heading back into Durango.
Our plans are to spend one more night here, going to the 4th of July Parade ...
