... us through to midnight. At around 11.45pm the staff in the restaurant started handing out an assortment of silly hats and tiaras, noisemakers and glasses of champagne. The restaurant fell quiet with a few minutes to go before midnight as almost all patrons were in silent contemplation watching the time tick over on their iPhones. There was a last minute trip to walmart for shampoo, conditioner, and a few other things, which turned out being mostly pointless. But I'll get to that.
