... was outrageous, sooooo many trucks and of course everything travelling very quickly. It was most tiring for John as the driver. The closer we got to Milan the worse it got, anyway, we survived. Luckily the road basically bypasses Milan and we were soon in Como.

... to collapse. We are weary travellers, and the prospect of seeing more sites is not enough to roust us from our horizontal positions. Rain starts, and I watch the people below intermingle with trains and buses and trolleys. Milan, with it's 3 million inhabitants, is much cleaner, more organized, and more upscale. It's the banking and fashion hub of Italy, and it shows.

I must note another plus to Milan... I seem to be communicating better ...

... and caused rapid deterioration of the painting, but I guess otherwise he would not have had the time to make it so detailed and the masterpiece that it is, and they have done a fabulous job restoring it. I am not an art or religious fanatic, but this work is well worth seeing!
