Norra Vallgatan 62 Malmö, Skåne, Sweden, 20180, 40-664-4800

29th Up early. Catch a vaporetto to the bus station at Piazzale Roma. Dan is going to Milan, where Leo has told him of relos to visit. I get the bus to the airport, and plane to Copenhagen. In Copenhagen, Immigration has no interest in seeing my passport and Customs has no interest in seeing my luggage, and I walk straight into the country just like that! Check emails in the airport, message from Tim saying he missed his flight, so not to meet him in the city but go straight to Sweden and che...
Malmö, Skåne, Sweden bray30th After a brilliant buffet breaky (complete with caviar!) at the hotel, Sonya comes to visit us. She's staying with Cecilia's mum (Gunilla) and has been here a week already. She's really excited to see us - it's great to see her again too. We go out into the city for a coffee, then help Sonya look for gear for the reception - primarily, champagne flutes. Walk to Malmöhaus Castle. Sonya and Tim initially aren't interested in spending long looking at exhibits so we decide to just see the in...
Malmö, Sweden bray31st Tim does some school work while I go out for a wander. Eating lunch at the music café in Lilla Torg when Tim & Sonya walk past. Go shopping with them. After Sonya decides she's tortured us enough with shoe shopping, we walk to Folklet's Park. Quite surprised to find a giant fun-fair there. We have a game of minigolf. I win nicely, Tim loses tragically. Sonya comes in midway. We then go through the Terrarium, which has a really fantastic collection of snakes (though none Aussie), and ...
Malmö, Sweden bray1st August Really, really crook. Tim & Sonya go out and do stuff. Decide to face the day at 4pm - but that's OK because there's still another 6 hours of sunlight left. Find Tim, Sonya, Danny & Tiff at the wine bar in Lilla Torg again. No wine for me! Sonya goes to do wedding stuff and the rest of us wander around for a bit. Meet up with Sonya at the hotel and go across the road to a Boston style bar/restaurant thing at the train station. A good feed. Bed was very welcome.
Malmö, Sweden bray2nd WEDDING DAY! Nice sleep-in, nice breaky, lounged around in the morning. At 11 Tim had to go help Terry with the photos so I went for a walk to see the windmill in Kings Gardens behind the castle. Very surprised to suddenly learn that every park and garden in the city is infested with beautiful black and white geese. Couldn't believe I hadn't seen them until now. The gardens themselves were very nice - giant old birches and beech trees, hedges of fruiting blackberry, and beds of foxgloves,...
Malmö, Sweden bray3rd While everyone else was suffering hangovers, I went for a walk to the beach (because I'd been sensible at the wedding). It was overcast and gloomy with spatters of rain and not much worth speaking of. A great view of the Turning Torso though. Back at the hotel I put some photos on Facebook. In the afternoon we met with Danny & Tiff and did a canal tour. Brian's sister & Don were also on the tour. It was nice to see the place from the water. After that we went to the movies to see ...

... The ride home wasn't too bad, but it was a lot slower, and I was glad to get back to Clive and climb into bed that night. For our last full day in Denmark we wandered around the rest of the tourist sites. Our initial plan was to get to the Amalienborg palace for the changing of the guard, alas we didn't make it, slept in to long and by the time we got into town it was 12 and we weren't going to get there. We saw a guard and he was happy for Dave to ...
Copenhagen, Denmark laine... one of the reasons why Christiania residents demand from visitors that from a certain point in the settlement no photos are taken. So one of three guys that were soaking up the sunshine by a fire in a metal barrel, whatever they were burning inside, told me when he saw my camera: "No photos from this point on!" - and pointed to the sign of a crossed camera on the wall of a neighbouring house. I nodded and, of course, respected their demands. After all, it was their ...
Copenhagen, Denmark the_wayfarerAfter my visit to north of Denmark I flew back to Copenhagen on Thursday. That day I met Tina a friend of Trine's who had kindly offered me a place to stay .We had met at Trine's the Saturday before on my introduction to Danish drinking habits. Tina was a great lover of the city she called home and was keen to ask me what my first impression of Copenhagen was. I muttered it's just another city nothing special. Nothing special! Tina was unhappy that I didn't feel the same ...
Copenhagen, Denmark johnhart... and we ended up on Stroget. All three of us were hungry, so our first stop was an Irish pub for lunch. We got to know each other a bit better over a beer and food (Irish stew, yum!). We were going to wander around, but because of the rain we decided to walk down Stroget to the next pub and have another drink. The rain started to come down harder and I was the only one with an umbrella so when we saw a cafe we happily ducked inside! Before leaving Canada I had met two ...
