... interesting: King Karl was no angel, that’s for sure. He would walk around the city with a stick with a silver ball on top. If he deemed that someone was not doing right then he’d give them a good swat. I thought I should get something like that to knock people upside the head!

It was really hot, probably in the 90’s, so the tour thru the castle was a welcome relief.

... who were to babysit our "home" for 2 weeks. David drove us to the station where we got train to Arlanda and flew via Heathrow to Newcastle. Hire car to the cottage in Northumbria for 2 weeks with my sister Theresa and brother in law David (who arrived Monday after scaling several more Monroes (mountains) in Scotland the previous week.

Lovely to have endless hot water in the shower and a bedroom to spread all our gear around ...

Kicked off the week's activities with a night out to Rabarber on Wednesday to see some live jazz!! =D Was very cool and I was very proud to know half of the songs! The small jazz band seemed to have their muso friends around cos the encore consisted of a series of awesome scat solos passed around the their table haha, was very cool. Ooooh! And we had sushi too!! Mmmm...my first sushi in like 1 year!

... The drips are caught by the wind, swinging a white line into the air, dripping it towards me. The gate I MacGuyvered I built a few days ago proves to be a ***** to paint, the drips not flowing into the gaps to fill the colour like I thought they would. The palm of my left hand has a line of white across it from catching the door as it opened from me painting the other side. Joelle appears to be I the same boat, a white smear on her pants and jumper. At least she didn’t get it ...
