We landed in Libreville, Gabon to let some passengers off and to pick up some others. After all the departing passengers got off the plane, the flight attendants verified the owner of each carry-on bag in the overhead bins. Each of us had to claim our bags. This took several minutes but was a good security measure. Then they sprayed the plane for mosquitos. They reassured us that this spray was not harmful to us. How does it kill mosquitos, then? ... is a festival for children all over Portugal today.

getting here was quite easy. I caught the metro in Lisbon to the bus station, then on to the bus..very comfy,with wifi and a "hostess" who sat beside the driver and bought around a little menu for snacks and drinks that you could buy. The trip took 3 1/2 hours but went quickly.

today I get back on a bus for a 6 hour trip to Seville....hope it is as comfy!

... everyone sang out in the full voice and increased tempo that seems unique to this area.

The service consisted of two split sermons. I spoke on the concept of pride vs. humility and the example of service that Christ set for us all. Mr. Mickelson spoke on the life of Sampson and the lessons we can learn of repentance and seeking God's perfect will to be done in our lives.

The fellowship following services was full of hugs ...

... I’m paying $123 to hire a car for one day. The driver also tells me it will take three hours to get to Badagry, which raises my eyebrows because my book states the town is only 40 miles from Lagos and takes one hour.

I found the ABC Transport booking office, oddly located in a small shoe store in the shopping center. The friendly woman at the desk tells me the fare to Cotonou, Benin, will be N 5,900 ($36.20). Credit cards are not accepted. I don’t have that much ...
