Today we took more time to explore Istanbul. We devoted the entire day to walk to and around the European side of the (large) city. The city has some pretty steep hills and uneven roads, but we made it through pretty smoothly.

On Saturday we took the ferry to Kadikoy on the Asian side of Istanbul. The ferry was amazing and the atmosphere stepping off the ferry was crazy! They are gearing up for elections here so there are lots of peaceful demonstrations and politicians speaking. Everything is accompanied by loud blasting music. At two, Izzet left for an appointment where he was taking photos from a helicopter. He said he was considering asking to bring me along, but was worried if something happened, that it would be very bad. Sad for me, that would have been so cool, but oh well. I totally understand and wouldn't want the responsibility if I were him either.
