      Not much of an exploration

... When we got back to the port, the Costa Magica had pulled in next to us. What a difference! People everywhere!

A quiet day on board. I managed to insult a very rude woman who pushed in front of me then went on and on and on asking questions about Istanbul. I finally asked if it was ok to interrupt this woman who had pushed in front of me. The other highlight was sitting ...

Ed is feeling better and so am I. We awoke to an amazing sunrise which looked like a volcano erupting. We eventually figured out that we weren’t even looking at Sicily, that we were facing the Toe of Italy. Naples had a cold biting wind which Messina doesn’t have. Albania and Montenegro were both beautiful countries, but Albania was the one that surprised us most, incredible scenery, very friendly people and rock bottom prices. It probably didn’t help we had to do so much maintenance in Montenegro but we’d recommend both to anyone as places to visit before they become too popular and over developed!

... views of the staggeringly beautiful west coast and described to us the impact of the Greek economic collapse on normal folk – a sad, tortured tale.

At Gouvia there was even a Reike studio to help Dennis. We began to hope that Dennis’ arm might allow us to move gently out after 7 days, on the next Monday, even the winds looked like they'd co-operate. The first anchorage was less than two hours away so we could bail back to Gouvia if worse ...
