We left Plovdiv for a long day on the bus to the city of Nesebar on the Black Sea. After a two hour drive we arrived in Stefan's hometown of Kazanlak in the Valley of the Roses. Here they manufacture 90% of the world's rose oil. The roses were done blooming, but we passed FIELDS of sunflowers and lavender. Gorgeous!! Also a couple of wagons pulled by horses with pom poms.
