    So after we left the hotel yesterday we headed down to the Econo Lodge and met up with Clare, another brit, who I had been chatting to on Facebook for a while. Went out for some lunch, a couple of tacos and a couple of strawberry margaritas.

    Tony, My chase partner for the last 11 days of this chasecation came down to meet us as he lives in Denver and helped me set up my phone with data etc. So I'm now hooked up on the road. :)

    After that we headed back ...

    Here we go!

    ... I've tried keeping a travel journal, on previous trips, by hand. My handwriting is pretty bad so I usually can't even read the entry after I finish writing it.

    ... time.  And Israel itself -- I have traveled there once before but I didn't fall in love with it as I did this time, from the starkly beautiful Negev to cosmopolitan Tel Aviv to historic Jerusalem (although I'm horrified by what is happening now, even taking shelter from incoming rockets was a valuable experience, giving us heart-wrenching insight into the tortuous situation there....) I was so moved by the land, the people, the food, the history.... and I can't wait to go again. ...

    ... some severe weather storms rolling in from tomorrow, so first chase day on sunday sounds like there could be something to chase!


    After breakfast we went for a bit of a wander down 16th St Mall, and visited the federal reserve bank. Got myself some free money (shredded unfortunately) and made a brass rubbing banknote... Bank of Rai :)

    Headed back to the Hotel for a bit of a rest then went ...

    ... it looks kind of like the tubes you float in when your in a pool except it is covered at the bottom) and give it to a guy that hooks it into this thing that pulls you up a the hill, kind of like a ski lift. When you get to the top you have to quickly unload and choose which hill you want to slide down. It slides down really fast and it was so fun, you could go down by yourself or there were double tubes where two people could go ...
