... br> Back into the cathedral. A mass was going on so sat at the very back for a bit. There was about 50 parishioners in attendance. I did like the displays re the history, architecture and art of the cathedral. Every church that John Paul II visited has at least a plaque re his visit.

To the town hall square, looking for camera angles. The heat is just starting to build up. The weather might be unsettled today so poncho in the daypack.

As I progressed towards it, I seemed to be approaching the cold front from the back because I could see the front itself, but I was under the trailing rain clouds - getting rained on of course. Around dinner time we made our way to the super market to spend the money from the useless change jar that we collected yesterday. We were able to get Johnny a beer... a new one from Lithuania called Kalnapilis and a liter of yogurt. Not bad.

... and a few wrong turns. The country side in Lithuania is beautiful. It's all green hills with wooden houses, wild flowers and thick forests. Everyone's yard is neat and tidy with lots of decorations, like sculptures carved from wood. There are also stalks everywhere! They make big round nests on top of tall poles. Sometimes we saw three stalks in the one nest! With a bit of luck (and my navigational prowess) ...

... been on recently lacks a central barrier, has u-turn lanes, roadside cafes, and bus stops. However it was very quiet and we made good time to Vilnius. The temperature rose to 29C. We made our way to Vilnius City Camping. In true Baltic States capital city fashion it too is sited near a conference centre, although it doesn't share any facilities with it.
