... from a Dublin car hire. Car hire Dublin is always a great idea in exploring the beauty of the city. It gives the feasibility to enjoy every aspect of the city from its historical places to its nightlife. The sceneries along the highways are a visual treat, which offer great experiences for travelers of all ages. The beautiful open prairies outside of the city are perfect for discovering the natural environment of ...
Riga, Riga, Latvia victor.baconI get an hour in Riga while changing buses. It seems interesting enough, maybe less of a well-defined spiffed-out old town, separate from the new modern city, but a more generalized sense of historicity throughout. It certainly seems more Russian, not surprising considering that ethnic Russians comprise more than half the population of Riga. They ARE more closely related, of course, Estonians sharing language and history with the Finns, and not much more than ...
Riga, Latvia hardiek... for something as it looked like possibly the most boring duty in the world. We left the park and found a nice Korean place for lunch, then continued walking around the narrow alleyways and cobbled streets until we came to the tallest pointy church in town. The church, Sv Petera baznicas, had been build a few hundred years before, but had burned down at the begining of the 1900's. It looked as though the refurbishment had only recently been completed, and we were ...
Riga, Latvia jimborussell... as a whole went through at the hands of Soviets. For frankly, I found it intriguing, same as some others of the same vein I had seen earlier. Let me put it like this. If you see the New York's Empire State Building as ugly, then this one is, too. You can't say one is and the other one isn't. Now decide for yourself. Of course, had Stalin's portrait ended up on its façade as it allegedly should have, I might have had a different opinion about it all. And maybe Rīga's citizens ...
Riga, Latvia the_wayfarer... of the world and you can always smell the seafood section before you get to it. There was also some fresh fish. Saw huge salmon steaks that looked delicious. That night (Aug. 3) I went on a walking tour of Riga to try to get a different view of the city. Cities always look different at night and often even more beautiful. However, this turned out to be the dullest walking tour ever!!! You may think I am exaggerating but I'm not. I've been on some so-so walking ...
Riga, Latvia eileenj... lost in the process (a contrast to the decades before when many lives were lost and they didnt get their independence). I then went to a small bar and watched the Russian language version of Match of the Day, the man at the bar told me that Latvia doesnät just import Russian language tv, it also produces it for the Russian-speaking Latvians (Russians who emmigrated here but are hated by the Latvians- I imagine Russian speaking is ...
Riga, Latvia englishanddrunk... in Riga today all shops downtown are closed, and busses were not leaving from the Port so I had to walk from the Port, through Old Town to get to my favourite hostel, Central Hostel. It is like coming home here and it is quiet due to many people not coming to Riga because of the Summit. Anyway there are hundreds of security people everywhere and I am surprised they did not stop me or question me as I strolled amongst them trying to find ...
Riga, Latvia lecklund... eyes on the floor of love but that was about it! I think we really stood out as tourists (our reason for this was because we had spiky hair and Eastern Europe dudes all have crop haircuts!). Si had a dancing session with a right sort and got some contact details but nowt else - Keen seemed very distant and wanted to leave early doors. It was a legendary night for the standard of girls there and our dancing complimented it - just cannot believe we didn't get any points! In at 4am!
Riga, Latvia minnelli... is high at the moment due to the world ice hockey championships. Twelve beds in a room, one toilet and one shower. They have their own bar and sauna! An early lunch. I went for a walk into the town. Riga is less of a structured city than most I have been to, its as though people have put buildings up where they wanted to instead of in neat squares as I am used to. The churches, as ever, are the highlight and make the place so pretty with odd ...
