Marsalforn Bay Marsalforn, Island of Gozo, Malta, 356-2155-6196-
... about the knights of Malta. We learned a lot. The knights are of the Order of St. John. They still exist. The Grand Inquisitor lived here. Most buildings here are because of their efforts. This place has been under siege so many times the people are almost apathetic. They are beautiful people, swarthy but refined. They speak Maltese, and Italian, and French and English. A bit of everything. They ...
Valletta, Island of Malta, Malta beanblossomI've just popped over to Malta for a day & a bit (as you do!) to say a quick hello / goodbye to my parents (and bring them lots of goodies over for the last time in a while).
The weather is a little warmer than the UK, but not as warm as it's going to be in a week's time (ha ha ha).
Anyway, I'll keep this blog short so ciao for now!

... br>We really felt like we went back through the centuries to discover the exceptionally rich cultural heritage of the Tunisian capital Tunis. For years this place was the most important Mediterranean port until the Romans destroyed it in 146BC, we thought about a trip to archaeological excavations but didn’t fancy munity by the kids so gave it a miss. We employed a local guide to take us to all the good spots, but having paid the ...
Malta, Malta sewtersojourns... difficult to understand his viewpoint, 'no jesus died so that they could rise again'. So his statement was everybody who wasn't a Christian before Jesus came to earth are living now in heaven but everyone who isn't a Christian after Jesus died is heading to hell even though He died for everyone'...? What...? I pointed out John 10:16, (which is largely overlooked by the church as it goes against there teaching of control), 'And other sheep I ...
malt, Malta martin_raeburn... is there. I really enjoyed the museum. There are two buildings. The first is one of the old military buildings, two connected H-huts, with the corrugated metal roofs. They have all kinds of planes, motors, other plane parts, uniforms, maps, photos and other air force memorabilia. Almost nothing in this building is roped off, so you can get close to many of the pieces on display and even touch them. Since, for most of our visit we were the only people in the museum, the ...
Ta'Qali, Malta mshulist... a woman came out and sang several old hymns (in Latin), one of which was Ave Maria. It really was enchanting. By the time this was over, it was 10:45pm and in typical Spanish timing - we boarded the buses on our way to dinner. We arrived at a huge castly up on a hill to find tables elegantly decorated to see 10 or 12. We sat down and dinner was (finally served) at around 11:30pm (yes, I was famished). After dinner, the Spain ...
Malta, Malta dineymarie... along the shore. A steep climb then brought me to the outskirts of a village where I was surprised to see a long black snake slither into some bushes ahead of me. Steve had told me he also saw a black snake at Ramla Bay so it was quite a coincidence. From here it was a short walk down to the reddish-gold beach of Ramla Bay. Overlooking it was 'Calypso's Cave,' possibly the location from Homer's Oddyseus where the nymph Calypso seduced the hero Oddyseus and held him captive for seven ...
Marsalforn, Malta will... are no shortage of people willing to pay handsomely for the privilege of living there, and the house prices would match such a situation. It really is a step back in time and ideal for anyone wanting to live the quiet live in an ancient city in the Mediterranean. This was the first time I truly felt that I could be walking the streets of a town hundreds of years away from the hustle and bustle of the 21st century. Cars owned by the residence are only allowed within the city and even ...
Mdina, Malta andrew.galea... Theresa's mom, and all three of us loved that one. I just have one thing to say... My wife, she makea this cheese... If you've seen it, you understand. Kirsten, Theresa's mom, invited us to a wonderful late Christmas breakfast. Smoked salmon, cheeses, meats, a Norwegian sesame bread... it was a real feast, and it made our Christmas day. Theresa and her sister Erika joined us for breakfast, having just woken up from the previous night's huge party ...
Sweqi, Malta tabonyhl... 80 meters to get to the water and took some great pictures of some rock faces and the clear blue water. We were exhausted after this but still decided to go to the Blue Grotto. It too is a massive cliff face with a shear drop-off. We took a 20 min boat ride for 2.5 Lira which showed us the small caves and the blue window which if it was a sunny day would look like glowing blue water. They also showed us the different colored rocks ...
