Arriving on the Sea Cloud

Then we went to our cabin. It was bigger than expected, especially the bathroom. The cabin has no key which means you canīt lock it!! Itīs strange for us, but apparently thatīs how it is on this ship.

Protaras is a favorite and very popular resort destination.
Before 1974 it was nothing here. Historically it was known as "Fig Tree Bay". I came here with Yianni on bikes when it was just fields and coasts around the year 1982 with the shyly erection of the first few hotels.

... in open stretches of sandy beaches like the Fig tree bay. In a couple of photos I posted in my previous entry I forgot to mention that the fig tree still exists. If not the old huge fig tree but there are smaller fig trees in that specific area, trees that come from the old fig tree! They are looked after by the Community in Paralimni. They have them watered and lopped.
