... or a good place just to enjoy a glass of wine and a mere feast! I think the heat is dreadful ! In Corfu the language is Greek and they use the Euro. With all the news of late with Greece being in such financial trouble it will be interesting to see if there is any visible effects. Hello is Yassou (YAH-sue) . adEE is Goodbye. We stopped at the port of Corfu. The only way to really get around the island is to take an excursion. At least it was for us. We were going to see a Monastery in the village of Palaiokastritsa and to the village of Gastouri to visit the 19th century Achilleion Palace.

When we where driving towards Corfu town I had the most surreal experience of De aj vu, I totally forgot that we stopped here a few weeks ago. As we where driving we passed a fort which I recognised and it completely spun me out, I was trying to recall where I'd seen it, was ...

... 600 passengers to the port's terminal which was over 1/4 mile away. How stupid! I wanted to go to the ship’s bridge and demand to see the captain and interrogate him about the situation! We walked with a sideways shuffle as we tried compensated for the wind striving to blow us into the ocean. With our new hair-dos and rumpled rain drenched clothing, courtesy of the Corfu winds and rain, we squished on into the Ship Terminal and customs with our shoes full ...
