      Last Day

I was woken at 5.00am by noise from deliveries in the courtyard outside the hotel, I am not sure if they were delivering to the hotel or to the shops under the hotel, anyway it's a city centre hotel so it's bound to happen, I tried to get back to sleep but no chance so I put tv on and watched BBC world news, all doom and gloom as usual. I got up and had a shower then at 6.30am went for breakfast, all the usual, hot food, Danish, coffee and apple juice oh and a ...

I got so cold walking around the lake so headed back to the hotel for a coffee and a warm also to plan my next outing. I wanted to visit the International Maritime Museum so I had a look on the map and it seemed fairly straight forward so after a good rest and wam up I set off again, only 2 mins away from the hotel it started to snow ...

It's a early morning flight to Hamburg, 7.30am from Birmingham airport so up at 4.00am and on the road for 4.30am. I was a little worried about the weather as snow had been forecast over night, I only saw a couple of flurries on the way to the airport so not as bad as they forecast thankfully. Arrived at the Airparks at 5.45 and quickly onto the bus, it's amazing how busy it is for so early in the day, the bus is nearly full, lots of people with ...

... have a good New Year celebration. It was so difficult to find a place for 4 people. The hostels were expensive or booked, and the airbnbs were slow to reply and most of them declined. I finally found a place a few stations out of central Hamburg, and we were able to have the whole apartment to ourselves. Hamburg is quite beautiful, and the Christmas market was still running, so our first night was a fun one wandering around the stalls. The canals and gardens ...
