      Day 6

A travel blog entry by valepark2 on Feb 03, 2015

Another sunless, windy and very cool day It would be even worse were it not for the organised coach trips and entertainment put on by the hotel. The trip was again up into the mountains. This time the centre of interest was goat farming and the production of goat's cheese. A topic that has always been at the top of our "need to ...

Moving day, and it was another miserable one The Sun didn't appear and the wind continued to blow. The temperature was supposed to be 20C but it felt much lower. I found a relaxed hostel at the north end of town that had a nice back yard and deck leading down to the shore. I didn't get up to much during my time here apart from the beach, sun and cheap food and drink. Caught some of the World Cup matches and the F1 at a local bar, Alis Tavern, run by an Irish lady and her Italian boyfriend that was good ...

... it was, coming here from Copenhagen! Not just the terrain, language, culture and climate, but everything seems so inexpensive here. Food and drink cost a fraction of what I was spending in northern Europe. Speaking of food, I enjoyed one of the local specialties called “wrinkly potatoes” – papas arrugadas are served with mojo, a sauce made from pureed garlic, oil and vinegar, sometimes with cheese, orange, avocado, paprika ...
