What Happened in Spain Part II

... most Boho hostel you'll ever set your eyes on. It was an amazing first-hostel experience, I'll tell you that. Blew away all my expectations! It was a tall slender building that was very old. The downstairs lobby/kitchen area had a large table and wrap-around seat with plenty of pillows and tons of space. Ok this is going to be way too difficult to explain, therefore, please just take a good look at the photos! Just know that they had really cool ...

Day with the Host Family

So today we didn't have an excursion because we had our own private tour guides in Rachel's host family from three years ago. They met us at the pier and were so happy to see Rachel it was great! They took us on a walking tour of historic Cadiz and we had breakfast at one of their places they like and we had churros an coffee with milk. Loly knew everyone we walked by it seemed and although they spoke no English and we speak little Spanish we were ...

Sherry Tasting and the Andalusian Horses

... of the sweetest sherry called "Nectar" for 8 Euro. I really didn’t like their regular sherry though. They were pretty cool though. When celebrities or royalty come visit, they have them sign a barrel of Tio Pepe instead of signing a guestbook! And they have a family of mice that are sherry connoisseurs. One of the distillery ...

... the way we stopped in Olvera so Mike could get his photo of the village and church tower. We arrived to Nerja very late and couldn't plug in the address in our handy-dandy gps - so we had to call the owner in the UK to give us directions. it was kind of late by the time we got to the house (after midnight). ugh! this was a long, long day! But, we're excited to be at the beach for the next 7 days. Shae can't wait to get her feet wet in the mediterranean.
The Cadiz carnaval

... farly uneasy to see a million of trains packed with dressed up, stoned and half-conscious people; they were shouting, dancing and staggering on the station, dashing towards the city centre. When our train finally arrived, delayed over 2 hours, it was stinking so much of sweat and alcohol that its windows were steamy and everything was sticky. I considered thanking God for the air-condition that helped to sort it out.

I was back home almost at midnight.
Zondag weer trug voor school gewerkt, back to life, back to reality!

Richting Gibraltar

¿Volver a dónde? ...

... for the guys and then we went to visit Evan. He was tending his bar alone for the first time and we all went out to support him. However, I didn't last very long. I only spent abuot an hour then shuffled back home and crashed. I was really tired and feel run down in many senses of the word. Today I am grateful for earplugs.

Escape to the Seaside

... some of the trials of working on the road. Mother Nature is one person that you really can't argue much with. It's her way or the highway and she didn't want me seeing too much of Sevilla. I decided to just hit the road and go south so when the rain let up a bit, I was off like a shot. I would escape the unusual torrentials and head to the seaside. I got on the bus and balanced my packs so the old man could sit beside me. He ...
