The first thing you see in Margarita (apart from perhaps plumped lips at the airport) is the sheer amount of vultures, and if you go to the beach in the morning, you'll see a sea of jellyfish that have been washed up overnight. The irony wasn't lost on us that the two most prominent creatures there are either circling, waiting to feed off you, or sting you, as that's pretty much how we felt about the majority of the island's inhabitants.
