Windy, flat terrain, wind and flat terrain

... sections but not much else. Nowhere to stop for a hot drink, lunch or toilet stop, or a place to rest the feet. (No toilet facilities either....just the odd spot where you could take care of natures concerns in a natural habitat). We arrived in Calzadilla at around 1:30 p.m. And check into our Hotel/Hostel for the night but it is so early and not much to see in this town of only 60 people. Kym and ...

Day 25 and 26

... preceded by lots of flat wheat fields. Again, there just seems to have been an influx of people. You never get a moment where it's just Elvis and I. There were only a few small towns today, it was a rather long walk to the first town - maybe 16kms I think and you should have seen the relief on pilgrims faces when they finally reached it. It was, by far, one of the busiest stops I have seen. When we arrived at our hostel in Terradillios we were a bit ...

... dismally. I thought I'd be an early starter leaving at between 0645 and 0715 each day but some people get up at 0530. I try to get about 8kms of walking under my belt before I stop at a village bar for a breakfast of Cafe con Leche and a Spanish tortilla with potatoes - delicious. The comradery on the Camino is wonderful so you can usually find someone interesting to chat to help pass the time. Equally sometimes I just want a bit of time walking on my own, not that ...

Day 17 Boadilla to Villalcázar de Sirga

A travel blog entry by hedley.amos

... a population of 207 souls? When we went over for dinner the damned place was closed, only open for lunch or special occaisions, what a bummer. I thought we would get a fabulous meal in a really nice establishment. Instead ended up getting some basics, eggs, onion, tomato and cheese, from the local grocery store to knock up an Omlette for dinner.

Only 6 of us in the Albergue tonight, 2 Korean girls and 2 bikers who we have spoken ...
