    ... girls in bikinis, dread locked and tattooed travelers. Back to convincing yourself that 50 push-ups a day is reasonable and won't be an inconvenience. Back to ordering food without being certain what it is. Back to saying yes to a locals question even though you only understood one word of it.     ... I was sort of comforted by the fact that she stuck an anti-seasickness patch behind her ear – I relied on my trusty Sea Legs tablets!     ... Catalina's Bird Park is built and becomes the largest aviary in the world.


    Still standing in all it's glory (though sadly not used at this time) is the former Casino and Dance Hall. Apparently they do open it for special occasions, but generally the only way to see it is by tour or they still operate a Museum on the basement level and movies on the first.

    So, now you can decide if this is the get-a-way for you!!

    ... a few spots where you can throw out the anchor and just hang out. They say you can easily spend the summer here just moving from cove to cove. That’s something we’d love to do someday. When we got to Avalon we grabbed a buoy and settled in. We wound up staying for 5 days.
