    About to head back to LA, it seems like a good time to reflect on my stay on Catalina.

    What I liked:

    • The aforementioned clean and quiet vehicles;
    • The community feel and people going out of their way to help you eg the lady who told me which hotel was cheapest when ...

Brock had two jobs that he was working on, one was the firm position at Akin Gump, and the other was the in-house position at Western Digital. We both had plenty of spare time. It has proven to be a task to get rid of everything and prepare for this, but it is coming towards the easy part now. Time to enjoy California while I still have this incredible opportunity. ... Our last morning was taken up with a quick visit to the BYC (Balboa Yacht Club that is, not Brixham... )for a couple of hats and a burgee, oh and a jacket...

    We did our packing followed by a final swim in the pool and then me driving back to Los Angeles, no detours this time, where we dropped the car off – all very efficient. Just a 5 hour wait for our flight to Auckland – see you in NZ!!!!
