... they thinking! So I did my own walking tour which was nice but not nearly as informative. I made the time to go into the cathedral (whats one more church) the cathedral was built in between the 13th and the 15th century. It is very much in the gothic style. It was quite lovely but the back of the church had been fenced off as a service was going on so not much touristing there. As I walked out of the church a little orchestra had set themselves ...

... Deb even managed to order orange juice for pudding. The food wasn't amazing but it gave us a nice glimpse of a less touristy Barcelona. The following day was our full on day as we headed to La Ramblas and walked for an eternity, taking in the city and the sights that we passed, appeasing the kids with sweets and hooky Barcelona shirts from street sellers along the way. We were at the right time ...

Unlike the older portion of the city, Eixample is a master-planned neighborhood with wide, ...

... day we just toured around. Last evening we went down to La Rumbla street and found the markets and although they were just shutting down for the day the food supplies looked really impressive. Later, we went to a nice restaurant just off of La Rumbla (the walking street) had tapa's to start of olives, asparagus and squid, for mains we shared a seafood paella dish. Lovely meal, would recommend this restaurant (my place). Walked up and down ...

    ... and cheery company.

We walked about afterwards. It is cold and the days are shortening quickly. The trip shortens (no pun intended) for us. We head to the metro and go home; changes made in minutes, very cool.

It is that moment: we have the Jamiesons, we have discovered BBC information on the TV, we have rustled up asparagus and Swiss cheese and a great minestrone soup. We rest our feet and take our ...
