So we are on our way! Here is a picture of the team! We made it from Kansas City to Chicago and are waiting in the gate area to board for Tokyo and then on to Hong Kong. ... no, Joel was looking out for us and pot pies were had....just wow. WOW. After we closed the place down (staff was both incredibly courteous and interested in seeing us leave so they could), we grabbed a taxi and got back acoss town in the same amount of time that it took the train to get to five of the 23 stops we stopped at on the train.

Many thanks to Anna at the United desk for helping us get a flight out of the country, and to the staff at the Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder ...

That was Friday night, and the next morning was just a whirlwind of packing and saying goodbye to Chicago. We drove about half an hour on the beautiful scenic Lake Shore road, which offers the perfect view of Chicago on one side and Lake Michigan on the other. A couple Felders discussed the architecture they saw, throwing around comparisons between "modernist" and "postmodernist" ...

My departure date is quickly approaching. I've put most of the things I'm not taking into storage, thanks to the help of a fantastic friend.
