Nach einer erneuten Fahrt mit dem Nachtbus, welche sich allerdings we***** strapaziös als die Hinfahrt gestaltete, trafen wir am 29. wieder in Goa ein. Leider erwies sich Baga, der nordgoanische Ort, den wir als Zentrale für ortstypische Strandpartys ausgemacht zu haben meinten, dann aber eher als eine Art indischer Ballermann. An einem grotesk überfüllten Strand reiht sich ein Sauf- und Chartmusikschuppen an den nächsten. ...

... Fahrstil war in der Tat halsbrecherisch. Nicht umsonst scheint Indien das Land mit den statistisch meisten Verkehrstoten zu sein. Die stillen Zeugen, in der Form eines ausgebrannten Busses und eines umgefallenen LKWs, sahen wir im Vorbeifahren am Wegesrand.
Ich fuer meinen Teil haette gern waehrend einer der zahlreichen kurzen Pausen auf unzaehligen Busbahnhoefen ein WC genutzt. Allerdings sind englische Schilder in Maharaschtra nicht sehr verbreitet. ...

... simmered down and then we had dinner on the boat, not what we were used to.
Took a day trip through to Old Goa to take in the old cathedrals and other religious buildings, very cultural.
There wasn't over much to do in Panaji so we decided to have a date night, Dominos Pizza and Cinema, had to stand for the Indian National Anthem before Pirates of the Carribean.

Today saw a drive down to Old Goa (with our driver's CD of Enrique Eglasias playing on loop the whole time- soothing to the nerves after the terrifying experiences of the roads there...) , to the Dudhsagar Falls, second highest in India which were beautiful. We reached them after a 40 minute scramble in the rustiest jeep ever (there were holes in the floor beneath us) driving through rivers and up dirt tracks. The Indian government won't build ...

... so tempted to get off the bus last night/this morning and go back to our favourite place so far, and we still.might yet......hehehee

Oh and Claire has finally given in and is reading a book, so that's the last I'll see of her!! she will have her nose well an truly stuck in the books from now on - she's been reading for about ten hours so far!! The kite runner I think. My fingers are ruined from all the guitar - pads are coming back now so won't feel it for much ...
